OK, so I don't really follow basketball all that closely.

But here's a dog who does -- Abby, a 13-month-old multi-poo I met at the Redondo Beach Dog Park this afternoon.

Laker Dog was a rescue, found with matted hair and suffering from neglect in someone's backyard.

Now, she's clearly very well loved and cared for and trotting around sporting a Laker sweater and purple bow on her head, complete with matching purple leash.

(Just a guess, but I suspect the Laker outfit is not the only one hanging in her little doggie closet.)

She and her owner were headed to a friend's house to watch the game tonight.

What a cutie.

About the Bloggers

Daily Breeze reporter Donna Littlejohn has shared her homes with a succession of wonderful, funny, and occasionally difficult canines -- Muffin, Fritz, Ellie, Mercy, Pilgrim and now Cowboy, an Australian shepherd-border collie, and Tess, a border collie. From strong-willed terriers to weirdly obsessed Australian shepherds, they've invaded her world with boundless energy, wet noses, muddy paws and soggy tennis balls. But they've really brought so much more than that -- like laughter and joy, some unexpected life lessons, and more than a few tears along the way.
