A story in today's Daily Breeze chronicles problems with the city's spay-neuter voucher program.

Meanwhile, low-cost vaccines and sterilization surgeries continue to be available at the Harbor Area spay neuter la.jpgAnimal Care Center's Clinico at 957 N. Gaffey St., San Pedro.

I had my Borzoi spayed at this clinic, and this breed is rather sensitive to anesthesia so I was a bit nervous. They were fantastic. The place was spotlessly clean, the staff was super-knowledgeable and professional, and I could not have asked for a better experience. I highly recommend them and applaud them for the wonderful job they do at very affordable prices!!

About the Bloggers

Daily Breeze reporter Donna Littlejohn has shared her homes with a succession of wonderful, funny, and occasionally difficult canines -- Muffin, Fritz, Ellie, Mercy, Pilgrim and now Cowboy, an Australian shepherd-border collie, and Tess, a border collie. From strong-willed terriers to weirdly obsessed Australian shepherds, they've invaded her world with boundless energy, wet noses, muddy paws and soggy tennis balls. But they've really brought so much more than that -- like laughter and joy, some unexpected life lessons, and more than a few tears along the way.
