From a shelter volunteer:
COCKER SPANIEL-Mix MAMA & PUPS Need RESCUE ASAP!
Imagine this poor mama, giving birth to her puppies in the shelter, just a few feet from where the lives of other dogs are ended! It must be hell for her!
Is there a rescuer who can get this mama dog and her puppies out of Harbor Shelter, 957 North Gaffey Street, San Pedro, CA, to a safe, warm, quiet place, so she can take care of her puppies, please??? Her pups were born in the shelter clinic several weeks ago, so she and the puppies have been under a lot of stress and I'm told are not doing as well as they could be. They've had all of the medical care they need, but the stress is getting to the mother and the pups may be underweight!!
The mother is as pretty & sweet as can be and very devoted to her puppies, but she needs rescue help! Please?
PLEASE - IF YOU CAN HELP GET THIS DEAR LITTLE FAMILY OUT OF THE SHELTER ASAP, CALL Supervisor, Leslie Corea at 310-548-2632!
| This DOG - ID#A1256754 I am an unaltered female, black Cocker Spaniel mix. The shelter thinks I am about 2 years and 1 month old. I weigh approximately 11 pounds. I have been at the shelter since Oct 12, 2011. |
Got this release today from the shelter:
WHAT ON EARTH IS THIS LITTLE THING?
It's a Min Pin Puppy!!!And here's her brother

And here's Momma!

This mama min pin and her two pups need to get out of Harbor Shelter at 957 North Gaffey Street, San Pedro, CA 90731 ASAP!!!
NOBODY sees them to adopt and it's time for them to get out of the shelter!!! The babies now have needle-sharp teeth and she's cramped in a cage, day after day, trying to raise them the best she can, so you can imagine it's a bit tough for the Mama to take care of these little 'uns!!! This sweet mama is so proud of her babies and even though they're now going through their "terrible-twos" (months that is!!), they still make her smile with their antics - she adores them, but she wants the best for them and the best is to get out of the shelter at this point!
The shelter is no place for these adorable babies and their long-suffering Mom! As you know, they're so susceptible to disease at this stage, they just need a safe, healthy place to be with their Mom until they can find homes and Mama needs to be able to take a break from the little terrors!!!
Won't someone please come to their rescue? Mama min pin was very shy when she came in, now she loves to cuddle and you can sense her relief when someone will babysit for even a few minutes!!!
These three are the cutest dogs ever and EASY adoptions for any rescue!!!
PLEASE IF YOU CAN GET THESE THREE SWEETHEARTS OUT OF HARBOR SHELTER - TODAY - CONTACT HARBOR SHELTER DIRECTLY AT 310-548-2632, RIGHT AWAY!!!
THANK YOU,

Daily Breeze reporter Donna Littlejohn has shared her homes with a succession of wonderful, funny, and occasionally difficult canines -- Muffin, Fritz, Ellie, Mercy, Pilgrim and now Cowboy, an Australian shepherd-border collie, and Tess, a border collie. From strong-willed terriers to weirdly obsessed Australian shepherds, they've invaded her world with boundless energy, wet noses, muddy paws and soggy tennis balls. But they've really brought so much more than that -- like laughter and joy, some unexpected life lessons, and more than a few tears along the way.
