harmony.jpgUpdate 1/10/12: Harmony has been found.

We posted earlier this week -- and wrote this story -- about Harmony, the deaf puppy, a boxer-American bulldog mix, that was stolen Tuesday from a car at the Manhattan Village shopping mall in Manhattan Beach.

The The Lovejoy Foundation, the rescue group that had Harmony before she was adopted just before Christmas, is mobilizing this weekend to pass out fliers and they need all the volunteers they can get.

Here's their update from the group's Facebook page:

UPDATE ON HARMONY- There have been a few leads but nothing that has led us to Harmony. We are sincerely grateful for all of the support from the community Channel 2, 5, 9 and 11 for continuing to run the story. Much thanks to The Easy Reader, The Daily Breeze and The Beach Reporter for their editorials. Although we are on day three without Harmony it is imperative we keep this story alive. Share and cross-post as much as possible, talk with people in your community who would be most likely to hear about or see Harmony.
Desperately needing more volunteers to canvas specific areas that we believe Harmony may be. Flyer's can be picked up at our adoption site at
1063 Aviation Blvd.
Hermosa Beach
Today (Friday 12/30) and Tomorrow (Saturday, 12/31) 10:00 - 4:00
We truly believe we will get Harmony back in our hands with all of the support from our Facebook community as well as the South Bay. We are truly humbled by each and everyone of you.

About the Bloggers

Daily Breeze reporter Donna Littlejohn has shared her homes with a succession of wonderful, funny, and occasionally difficult canines -- Muffin, Fritz, Ellie, Mercy, Pilgrim and now Cowboy, an Australian shepherd-border collie, and Tess, a border collie. From strong-willed terriers to weirdly obsessed Australian shepherds, they've invaded her world with boundless energy, wet noses, muddy paws and soggy tennis balls. But they've really brought so much more than that -- like laughter and joy, some unexpected life lessons, and more than a few tears along the way.

Josh Grossberg grew up with the usual array of animals: goldfish, dogs, hamsters, parakeets and turtles. He now owns the loudest dog in the South Bay(Video: Rocket the Dog) and is the least popular person on his block. He spends his free time in dog parks, pet shops and always has an extra plastic bag in his pocket just in case. He also has a cat.
