West Valley Councilman Dennis Zine is heading to Washington D.C. Thursday to testify before Congress on immigration. Zine chairs the National League of Cities Immigration Task Force and was asked to speak on the group's behalf at the House Subcommittee on Immigration, Citizenship, Refugees, Border Security and International Law.

Zine will push Congress to pass comprehensive immigration reform, including stronger enforcement of current immigration laws, a path to citizenship for illegal immigrants, and increased funding for local governments handling the social services and costs of immigration.

The hearing will be held Thursday, May 17th at 3pm EDT at 2141 Rayburn House Office Building. You can watch it live from the subcommittee homepage.
