Prop. S looks like a winner

With the California polls just closing, exit polling shows Proposition S, the $270 million telephone users tax easily winning passage.

According to a Loyola Marymount University exit poll of 1,700 voters in 50 precincts across the city and the San Fernando Valley, Measure S appeared to be passing by a wide margin.

"I don't want to call the election but ... it looks like an easy victory (for Measure S)," said Fernando Guerra, the director of the Leavey Center for the Study of Los Angeles at the university.

Experts cautioned the poll results are sampling of voters, and the final results could vary, but city officials welcomed the exit poll.
