That's the words used by new Assembly Speaker Karen Bass, D-Los Angeles, with her taking charge from Speaker Fabian Nunez, D-Los Angeles, as she described the problems facing the state.
To help work toward the future, she has asked two former governors, Pete Wilson and Gray Davis, to head an independent panel to look at the state's tax structure.
