The Los Angeles City Council gave final approval Wednesday to a $7.01 billion city budget that eliminates hundreds of jobs and raises fees on everything from parking and golf to trash collection.Daily News.

The 12-0 council vote came without comment and the spending plan now goes to Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, who said he is happy with everything except how $2.7 million in anti-gang funds will be disbursed.

City Council President Eric Garcetti said it is the third consecutive year the council unanimously adopted the budget.

"This shows that, working with the mayor, we can adopt a spending plan that reflects the economic realities and problems facing the city," Garcetti said.
