Dude. What happened to our beaches?

Southern California surfers and swimmers have enjoyed some of the cleanest ocean water in three years, but Los Angeles County still tops the state's list of most- polluted beaches, according to a report released Wednesday. Daily News.

For the third straight year, the county had California's worst overall beach-water quality but showed some dramatic improvements, especially beaches along Pacific Coast Highway, according to the 18th annual Beach Report Card prepared by the environmental group Heal the Bay.

"The report card is great news for the millions of people that visit California's beaches each year," said Mark Gold, president of Heal the Bay.
