Vandals hit home of Lancaster council critic

| | Comments (0) |

A Lancaster woman who objected to the City Council's decision to place the motto "In God We Trust" on a wall of the council chambers woke up Thursday morning to find the words "In God We Trust or?" scrawled in shoe polish on her home.Karen Maeshiro in the Daily News.

Debbie Phillips, who publicly opposed the council's decision at two recent meetings on Tuesday, was shocked when she opened her blinds and saw the words across two windows and a sliding-glass door.

"People should be able to voice their opinion at City Hall without worrying about repercussions," said Phillips, 50. "It's mild vandalism, but it's more damage to the psyche."
