Villaraigosa shuffles staff

With the departure of Communications Director Sean Clegg to private industry, Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa announce the promotion of spokeswoman Janelle Erickson to the post.
"Since day one of my administration, Janelle has been a key strategist and a trusted advisor," Villaraigosa said. "She's recognized throughout the press corps as a straight
shooter with a deep knowledge of the policy issues and inner workings of
LA government."
Clegg, who came to work for Villaraigosa shortly after his election in 2005, is leaving to become a partner in the comunications firm of Brunswick Group LLC in San Francisco.
Erickson has over 13 years of experience in campaign and legislative strategy. She worked for Councilwoman Wendy Greuel and, prior to that, in the 2000 presidential campaign of former Vice President Al Gore.Before that, she worked in the White House Office of Legislative Affairs for former President Clinton.
