FBI investigates Burbank P.D.

Allegations of excessive force and misconduct by the Burbank Police Department have spurred an FBI investigation into possible civil rights violations, authorities said Thursday.

Federal authorities would not discuss specifics of the case or say when the investigation regarding officer misconduct was launched.

"The only thing we can say is that when civil rights are investigated by the FBI, the results are forwarded to the Department of Justice in Washington, D.C.," said Laura Eimiller, FBI spokeswoman. "They'll decide if a further investigation is needed."
