Housing sales on the rise

Home sales jumped 14 percent in Los Angeles County during September while prices continued to moderate in most areas, a market tracker said Tuesday. Gregory J. Wilcox in the Daily News.

A total of 7,138 new and existing homes and condos sold last month in the county, up from 6,274 a year earlier, but down slightly from the 7,198 sold in August, said San Diego-based MDA DataQuick.

Los Angeles recorded the biggest sales increase in Southern California's six-county region.
