L.A. sees drop in homeless

In a new report that seemed to defy common wisdom about the nation's economic turmoil, Los Angeles County officials said Wednesday the local homeless population has dropped by 38 percent since 2007. Troy Anderson in the Daily News.

The Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority now estimates that the county has 50,000 people who are homeless on any given night.
