Carter has several bills signed by governor
Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger earlier this month signed into law several bills by Assemblywoman Wilmer Aminia Carter.
According to a news release from Carter's office, the bills included:
Assembly Bill 485: The Civil Air Patrol Employment Protection Act provides employment leave provisions for volunteer members of the California Wing of the Civil Air Patrol when they perform authorized emergency operational missions.
Assembly Bill 561: Local street and road workers will be protected against abuse by the law, which will make it an an offense punishable by a fine and/or jail time. This bill was sponsored by the San Bernardino Public Employees Association.
Assembly Bill 1116: The bill will require physicians and surgeons -- including people licensed by the state who are holding permits to perform elective facial cosmetic surgery -- to complete a physical examination and medical history on their patients prior to performing the elective cosmetic surgery on that patient.
Assembly Bill 174: The bill gives county committees the opportunity to have more local control over unification and school district reorganization issues that are not controversial.
Assembly Bill 412: The bill would provide a deterrent in California to the public hanging of a noose in a threatening manner. This bill would enhance existing hate crimes statutes.
Carter is a Democrat who represents the 62nd District, which includes Fontana.
