Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center recognized
Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center was recognized recently with a number of awards from an organization representing non-profit hospitals.
The hospital was presented 12 trophies and various other awards in the VHA Inc.'s West Coast Member Spotlight Awards ceremony in Los Angeles recently.
"These awards represent an acknowledgment that we are doing the right things right. And while were pleased with the recognition, we look forward to doing even better in the new year," Kurt Weinmeister, the hospital's chief operating officer, said in a statement.
VHA serves 1,400 not-for-profit hospitals and more than 24,000 non-acute care health care organizations across the nation, according to VHA's Web site.
VHA members work together to make improvements in the clinical and economic areas, according to a hospital statement.
Among the awards the hospital received for its work during the past year are the following:
- Patient Safety Excellence Award - three awards including a Diamond Trophy, the highest level of recognition for "Prevention of Ventilator Associated Pneumonia."
- Performance Achievement in Hospital Operations, Supply Chain or Service Line Management Award - a Diamond Trophy Award to the hospital's supply chain collaborative team
- Innovation Award - a Diamond Trophy for achievements in Interdisciplinary Rounds
- Nurse Champion Award - Diamond Trophy to nurse Vicky Ancheta for exemplary leadership and commitment
- Passion Awards - Diamond Trophy to Chris Lewis; Circle Trophy to Deborah Keasler; and a certificate to Mamta Desai
