Pomona group to hold earthquake preparedness workshop

Earthquake preparedness will be the topic of the evening at Thursday's meeting of the Willie White Park Focus Group.

The two-hour meeting begins at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Willie White Park Community Center, 3065 Battram St.

The evening's activities will include an earthquake preparedness workshop designed to provide those in attendance with information on how to plan for a major disaster and its aftermath.

Guest speakers will include George Hunter, disaster preparedness coordinator for the Pomona Unified School District.

Members of the Los Angeles County Fire Department and representatives of the M&I Surplus will also take part in the workshop providing those in attendance information on the supplies needed to care for a family and pets following a disaster.
