Pomona Heritage sets Restoration Workshop
Information on repairing and restoring vintage homes will be plentiful during the 12th annual Old Home Restoration Workshop on April 3.
Those participating in the free workshop will find seminars on wood refinishing, double hung window repair, paint and painting, painting Craftsman style frieze, retro-fitting, along with the cooling and heating of a vintage homes.
Seminars on gardening and tree trimming will also be offered.
Information offered at the workshop will be useful to residents of historic districts and those who live in older homes, according to a statement from Pomona Heritage, which organizes the event.
Artisans and craftsmen will also be available to answer questions about old home repair and restoration work.
Representatives of the city's Planning, Building, and Code Enforcement divisions will also be in attendance to answer questions involving regulations for working on vintage homes and about special requirements in historic districts, the statement said.
Activities will include a silent auction the proceeds of which will go to the preservation of historic homes in the city.
Participants will also find information on products and services useful to those living in historic homes.
The workshop will take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 3 at Trinity United Methodist Church, 676 N. Gibbs St.
