HESPERIA CHRSTIAN TOURNAMENT

La Verne Lutheran 64, Hesperia Christian 62

Junior Jordan Gellatly scored the game-winning layup with one second left for his only basket of the game for the Trojans (2-0). Hesperia Chr. (1-1).

Keith Shamburger scored 18 points, 13 assists and three steals while Carl Cooper led the team with 25 points, including five three-pointers for La Verne.

Hesperia Christian was led by Jordan Vargas' game-high 27 points, including going 17-18 at the free-throw line and Tyler O'Brien added 16.

La Verne faces San Diego Tri-City Christian in the semifinals today at 10:30 a.m..
