AQUINAS WINS
The Falcons (1-0) won their season-opener 46-36 over the Royals (0-1) in the first round of the Big Daddy Tournament.
Forward Christina Torres scored 16 points and 13 rebounds and Candice Tapia added 13 points. Aquinas fell behind only once in the contest, with the Falcons up at the half 26-24.
Aquinas faces Coachella Valley today at 5:30 p.m. at Woodcrest Christian in the second round.
REDLANDS DEFEATS LA SIERRA
The Terriers (1-0) won their season-opener 65-32 over the Eagles (0-1) in the first round of the Big Daddy Tournament.
Forward Emily Vore had 20 points, 10 rebounds and three block shots while Justine Littlefield added 13 points and five steals for Redlands.
Redlands had six three-pointers compared to La Sierra's none.
Redlands faces San Gorgonio today at 3:30 p.m. at Woodcrest Christian in the second round.
