DESERT HEAT CLASSIC

National Division Championship

All-tournament selection Derrick Rodgers had 11 of his 17 points in the fourth quarter to help the Grizzlies (11-5) capture the title in their first appearance in the tournament with a win over the Wolverines (9-5).

UCLA-bound sophomore and tournament MVP Kendall Williams, who averaged 25 points and six assists during the tournament, scored 27 points while all-tournament selection Michale Blaylock received the honor for his defensive prowess.

Los Osos also defeated the 5th ranked team from Washington and the 4th ranked team from Nevada during the tournament.

SERRANO DIAMONDBACK CLASSIC

The Knights (10-2) played a stifling full-court defense in which Diamond Smith had five crucial steals in the second half, giving Rialto a third-place finish after defeating the Cougars (8-4).
Smith had 15 points, and Brittanie Tuioti contributed 12 points and 10 rebounds for Rialto, which overcame a 27-18 halftime deficit.

ONTARIO CHRISTIAN KNIGHT TIME CLASSIC
Maddie Whalen scored seven points as the Knights (6-6) fell in the third-place game to the Crusaders (9-3).
Danielle Dirksen and Gina Ligtenberg scored six points apiece for Ontario Christian.

PALM SPRINGS TOURNAMENT

Adrianne Thomas’ 16 points paced the SkyHawks over Temecula Chaparral in the championship game.
Maiya Michel added nine for the Skyhawks (14-1), who held the Pumas to four points in the first quarter.

DON LUGO TOURNAMENT

Angela Terrones had 13 points and assisted on Renae Upton’s basket with two minutes left to clinch the victory for the Jaguars (2-8).
Ontario freshman Ngozi Udeh scored 12 points against the Lions (1-8) in her first start.

DON LUGO TOURNAMENT

Kellie Moore had 21 points, 11 assists and eight steals to lead the Cowgirls (7-8) to a fifth-place finish with a win over Riverside Patriot (4-9).
Kourtney Gilbert added 14 points and six steals while Robin Fernandes contributed 13 points for Chino, which hit a season-high nine 3-pointers.

TORREY PINES TOURNAMENT

Del Wilson hit four 3-pointers en route to a game-high 22 points in the championship game for the Eagles (13-2).
Wilson added seven steals and six assists for Eisenhower, which got 17 points from David Chavarria.

PALOMA VALLEY WINTER SHOOTOUT

Sarunas Jackson scored 16 points and pulled down 12 rebounds to lead the Mustangs to a win over the Wildcats in the fifth-place game.
Chris Drisdom was an all-tournament selection for Roosevelt, as was Montreal Harris, who scored 24 for Twentynine Palms.

PALOMA VALLEY WINTER SHOOTOUT

Byron Wesley Jr. paced the Knights (6-8) with 19 points and 12 rebounds in the victory over the Bulldogs (6-9).
Xavier Reid added eight assists and four steals for Rialto, which led by 17 points at halftime.

ONTARIO CHRISTIAN KNIGHT TIME CLASSIC

The Bears (9-5) got 12 points and seven rebounds in the third-place game from Kriss Proctor.
Proctor was named to the all-tournament team, and Jesse Ceron added 13 points and seven rebounds against Poly (10-3).

LINFIELD CHRISTIAN TOURNAMENT

Cory Halloman scored 44<TH>points in two games to lead the Falcons to a championship at the Linfield Christian Tournament.
The Falcons (13-3) defeated Morro Bay in the semifinal, then came back with a 50-46 win over the host school in the final later in the day.
Halloman had 30 in the first game, then followed up with 14<TH>points, four assists and three steals in the title tilt.

DESERT HEAT CLASSIC

Miles Jerrett scored 15 points and grabbed seven rebounds for the Bulldogs (10-3) to take third place with a win over the Tartans (5-2).
Jordan Ramos added 12 points, nine assists and eight steals for Ayala, which led by as much as 30 points in the fourth quarter, due largely in part to their nine 3-pointers.

LOMA LINDA TOURNAMENT

Championship

The Roadrunners' came out with a strong defensive effort in closing out on the perimeter shots against the Cardinals.

Sabrina Cruz led all scorers with 20 points while Victoria Lowe added nine points, two rebounds, and two assists for Loma Linda, who led 29-22 at the half.

Mesa Grande was led by Carla Bartlett's 13 points and Megan Williams 11 points.

UPLAND TOURNAMENT

Marc-Anthony Diaz scored the deciding penalty kick for the Tigers (5-8). Sergio Arteaga scored the initial goal for Chaffey while Claremont’s goal was an own goal.
Jesus Estrada had three saves for Chaffey.

GLENDORA TOURNAMENT

The Wolfpack (10-4) were led by all-tourny selection Brandi Brown's 22 points and a career-high 22 rebounds in defeating the Tartans (9-6) in the third place game.

All-Tournament selection Amber Williams had eight points and 13 rebounds for Claremont, who improved on their fifth place finish from last year's tournament.

 

WHITTIER CHRISTIAN TOURNAMENT

Akeem Nesbeth’s game-winning steal and layup with 16 seconds left gave Ontario victory over Whittier Christian in a Whittier Christian Tournament semifinal game Saturday.
Nesbeth scored a team-high 19 points and Brandon Tuggle added 14 for the Jaguars (8-5), which plays Cathedral for the championship at 4:30 p.m. Monday.

BANNING TOURNAMENT

Nicole Cooper scored a game-high 18 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to help lift the Hawks (8-4) to the championship game with a pool play victory over Hemet West Valley.
Ronni Reynolds added seven points and six steals for Arroyo Valley, who will face the winner of the Banning-Redlands game at 7:30 p.m. today.

DON LUGO TOURNAMENT

Kourtney Gilbert and Robin Fernandes each scored 21 points to lead the Cowgirls (6-8).
Jessica Miller added seven assists for Chino, which plays Patriot at 2:30 p.m. at Don Lugo for fifth place.

 

DON LUGO TOURNAMENT

Kayla Valentine scored 13 points, with 11 coming in the first quarter, as the Conquistadors (11-5) advanced to the championship with a pool play win over the Cavaliers.
Melanie Fagaly added 11 points and 10 rebounds for Don Lugo, who led 41-10 at the half.
Montclair was led by Shoquoya Woods’ 11 points and Rachel Saucedo’s five.

ONTARIO CHRISTIAN CLASSIC

Shane Sousa and Manuel Macias scored goals for the Knights (9-1) in leading them to a fourth place finish with a win over their Christian League rival Lancers (9-6).
Goalkeepr Frank Torres got his fourth shutout of the season with eight saves.

GLENDORA TOURNAMENT

Joyce Koloa’s 23 points led the Tigers (12-0), who advanced to tonight’s championship game against Glendale Hoover with the victory.
Monet Smith added eight points and 10 rebounds, and Lani Mateale had nine rebounds to go along with her 13 points. Deanna Flores’ 16 points led Rim of the World.

ONTARIO CHRISTIAN CLASSIC

Alan Supernaw’s second goal of the game, three minutes into overtime, gave the Eagles (12-0-2) the tournament championship.
Supernaw’s shot was a high shot over the goalie’s shoulder from the left of the goal into the upper left corner. Supernaw had tied the score in the 70th minute with a low shot from the left side.
ACA next plays against Covina Western Christian on Jan. 3 at 3:15 p.m. at Crafton Park.

GLENDORA TOURNAMENT

Amber Williams scored 21 points with 11 rebounds, Vanessa Wright had 19 with nine assists for the Wolfpack (9-4) at the end of pool play.
Kori Carter and Brandi Brown each scored 11 respectively for Claremont which plays tomorrow at 6:30 p.m. at Glendora for third place.

 

BOYS SOCCER

The Spartans (4-5-4) scored four second-half goals on their way to the consolation third place finish with a victory over the Bruins.
Aldo Iniguez, Ramon Meza, Marco Lopez, Angel De Leon and Taylor Kern scored a goal apiece with Meza and Iniguez adding an assist.
Goalkeeper Enrique Martinez had six saves for San Gorgonio.

LA CANADA HOLIDAY TOURNAMENT

A missed 3-pointer at the buzzer preserved the victory for the Highlanders (8-7), who were led by Janee Goomdan’s 12 points.
Heather Brown added 11 for Upland, which will play for fifth place at 2:30 p.m. today at La Cañada High School.

TORREY PINES TOURNAMENT

The Eagles (12-2) defeated the fifth-ranked team in San Diego County in handing Mission Hills (9-2) only their second loss of the season.
Alex Varner led Eisenhower with 15 points, including four three-pointers, and grabbed eight rebounds while Andrew Bock added 11 points off of three three-pointers.
Eisenhower advances to the title game and faces the winner of the Mayfair-La Costa Canyon game at 5 p.m. at Torrey Pines High School.

TARBUT V’TORAH TOURNAMENT

Carl Cooper scored 22 points in the first quarter en route to a game-high 30 and the Trojans improved to 10-0 on the season.
Keith Shamburger added 13 points and 10 assists for La Verne Lutheran.

MURRIETA VALLEY NIGHTHAWK CLASSIC

Jolene Castanon scored 13 points, but the Thunderbirds (6-6) fell behind by 25 points at halftime en route to the pool play loss.
Yucaipa will play Riverside La Sierra at 2:30 p.m. tomorrowat Murrieta Valley High School.

ONTARIO CHRISTIAN KNIGHT TIME CLASSIC

Evan Imperio made his final two free-throws with .06 seconds left as the Eagles (10-5) defeated the Bears. Mark Dunham scored 17 points with eight rebounds for ACA, which plays today at 1:30 p.m. today at Ontario Christian.

PALM SPRINGS DESERT TOURNAMENT

Keisha Albert led all scorers with 17 points, Cierra Wasp added 16 and the Cardinals (4-3) advanced to the consolation championship game.
Jasmine Ray followed up her 36-point effort against Hemet on Thursday with 15 points for San Bernardino, which will face San Jacinto at 3 p.m. today.

ONTARIO CHRISTIAN KNIGHT TIME CLASSIC

The Royals raced to a 21-point halftime lead to win the semifinal game. Kriss Proctor scored 16 points to lead the Bears (8-5), which plays for third place at 4:30 p.m. today.

 

NOGALES TOURNAMENT

James Tonie scored 27 points, including three three-pointers, to lead the Diamondbacks (12-1) past the Tigers (11-2) in the consolation bracket.
After going scoreless in the first quarter, Davie Champagnie scored a career-high 43 points and grabbed 20 rebounds while freshman Jordan Daniels contributed 13 points and 12 assists.
Chaffey faces the winner of the Nogales-Diamond Bar game at 1:45 p.m. today.

ONTARIO CHRISTIAN KNIGHT TIME CLASSIC

Danielle Dirksen scored six points with 11 rebounds as the Knights (6-5) fell to the Panthers in the third game of pool play.

NOGALES TOURNAMENT

Austin Napolitano scored 16 points but the Spartans (11-4) fell in the semifinals to Rancho Verde (8-4).
Trevor Woodland added 12 points for Damein, who made it a five-point game with three minutes left before having to foul.

LINFIELD CHRISTIAN TOURNAMENT

Cory Hollamon made a 15-foot jump shot at the buzzard to give the Falcons (11-3) their second straight victory in the tournament with a win over the Trojans.
Hollaman had 22 points while James Albert added 19 points and 11 rebounds for Aquinas, who held off a second-half charge after leading 40-31 at the half.
Yucca Valley was led by Conner Madden’s 13 points and Devon Norris’ 12, all on three-pointers.
Aquinas faces Morro Bay at 10 a.m. today and tournament host Linfield Christian at 1 p.m.

DESERT HEAT CLASSIC

Mike Cardenas hit seven 3-pointers en route to a game-high 29 points as the Rebels (9-5) advanced to the championship game in Cathedral City.
Deondre Brodie added 13 points and five assists, and David Freeman had six assists off the bench for Miller.

ONTARIO CHRISTIAN WINTER CLASSIC

Jenna Gann and Kaitlyn Mendoza found the back of the net for the Knights (8-6-1) to lead them to the tournament title for the second straight year with a win over the Titans.
Mendoza also added an assist while goalie Martina Long recorded her second shutout of the season with two saves.

DESERT HEAT CLASSIC

The Grizzlies (10-5) knocked off the No. 5 state-ranked team from Washington, the Islanders (9-1) to advance to the championship game of the National Division at Cathedral City HS.
Los Osos was led by Kendall Williams’ 18 points and five assists while Mychal Blaylock added 10 points and seven rebounds while holding the tournament’s leading scorer to only 12 points.
Los Osos will face the winner of the Margaret Weslake-West Grove game for the championship at 8:30 p.m. today at Cathedral City HS.

RANCHO VERDE TOURNAMENT

Camille Oscar scored in the 57th minute off of Mary Castro’s corner kick to snap a 1-1 tie and lift the Lions (8-5-2) to victory. Ni’risie Castillo scored in the first half for Carter.
Carter will play host Rancho Verde today at 3 p.m., and a victory would give the Lions the championship.

SAN GORGONIO HOLIDAY CLASSIC


Tournament MVP Sam Wilson scored the game-winning penalty kick to give the Diamondbacks (14-1-0) the torunament title with a win over defending champion Temecula Valley.
Wilson, who is also the goalkeeper, saved nine shots and did not allow a goal throughout the five-game tournament.
All-tournament selections from Serrano, notably all defenders, included Phoenix Oliveras, Whitney Haymaker, Stephanie Wilson and Bianca Garcia.

 

SAN GORGONIO HOLIDAY CLASSIC

Casey Mendoza set up Kloey Glass for the game’s only goal, and the Terriers (5-3-2) got seven saves from Charlene Roorda to clinch third place in the tournament.
Goalie Erin Salazar stopped four of five shots in the first half for the Wildcats, and Brittany Winegar blocked both shots she faced in the second half.

BLOOMINGTON CHRISTIAN CLASSIC

Mike Schafer’s 20 points led all scorers and the Eagles (3-4) advanced to a semifinal date with Lucerne Valley Christian at Bloomington Christian.
Matt Polasino had 18 points and 16 rebounds for the Cougars (2-8), and Ukem Everett led Cal Vary Baptist with 17 rebounds.

AYALA TOURNAMENT

Ayala won it’s back to back own host tournament with a championship victory over Los Osos 9-3.
The leading scorer for the Bulldogs (8-1) in the entire tournament in five games was Alex Ford with 18 goals. Dani Curran was the leading scorer for Ayala in the championship game scoring four.
Ayala opens up Sierra League host to Glendora Tuesday, January 8th at 4:15 p.m.

KIWANIS TOURNAMENT

Thomas Capruscio scored 31 points, making 14 of 16 field-goal attempts, to lead the Fighting Scots. Dwight Wood had 23 points for Rim of the World, which improved to 7-5.
Sammy Hicks hit three 3-pointers for Silverado. Jamil Patterson had 15, while Aaron Green and Jordan Hornton 10 each added 10 points.

KIWANIS TOURNAMENT

The Bruins raced to a 43-23 halftime advantage, and managed to hold off Pacific.
Darryn Harrison paced Bloomington with 25 points and Ricardo Sanches had 17. Bloomington will face Rim of the World at 6:30 p.m. at Cajon High School tomorrow in the consolation bracket.

Pacific managed to cut the Bruins’ lead to one, but fell just short at the end. Christone Feltzs led all scorers with 32 points.

LOMA LINDA TOURNAMENT

Thad Lowe scored 18 points with 16 rebounds for the Roadrunners (7-7) in pool play. Cameron Buckley added 17 for Loma Linda, which is undefeated (2-0) in the tournament.

MODESTO CHRISTIAN TOURNAMENT

Tre Brewer scored 15 points as the Eagles (13-0) defeated the Titans. Rome Draper had 13 and 10 rebounds for Etiwanda, which plays in the semifinals today against Sacramento at 7 p.m. at Modesto Christian.

WHITTIER CHRISTIAN TOURNAMENT

Brandon Tuggle scored 22 points with 11 rebounds as the Jaguars (7-5) beat the Buccaneers.
Luis Vargas had 19 points for Ontario, which plays Saturday at 7:30 p.m. at Whittier Christian in the semifinals.

TARBUT V'TORAH TOURNAMENT

Carl Cooper scored 24 points, had five assists and five steals to lead the Trojans (9-0) to a pool-play victory.
Keith Shamburger scored 21 points and had eight assists for La Verne Lutheran, which was sparked by a thunderous first-quarter dunk by freshman Bruce English.

BANNING TOURNAMENT

Ronni Reynolds had 16 points and eight steals as the Hawks (7-4) beat the Cougars. Shamenia Jefferson added 12 for Arroyo Valley in the second game of pool play.

Junior Lauren Jacobs scored 18 points and had 10 assists and seven steals to lead the Bulldogs (11-2) past the Blackhawks in the quarterfinals at Banning. Senior Emily Vore had 17 points and 16 rebounds.
Redlands will play Banning at 7:30 in the late semifinal tomorrow.

BLOOMINGTON CHRISTIAN WINTER CLASSIC

Amy Cooper and Cherise Anderson each scored 12 points for LAC (6-0).
Nikole Logue had 26 points, 10 rebounds and seven steals for Calvary Baptist (3-4, 3-0), Jasmine Bayliss had 10 rebounds and five steals and Toni Bayliss had six rebounds, three assists and six steals.

GLENDORA TOURNAMENT

>Joyce Koloa scored 29 points with 12 rebounds as the Tigers (13-0) routed the Wolfpack in the second round.

Megan Williams scored 17 points and grabbed 10 rebounds as the Cardinals defeated the Eagles (9-2) in their second pool-play game.

Lowe scored 11 and Sabrina Cruz had two 3-pointers among her 10 points for the Roadrunners. Danielle Houck paced the Bulldogs with 11 points.

The Cardinals (14-3) set a school record with 15 3-pointers in defeating the Lions.
Julia Ruybalid made her 100th career 3-pointer on her way to 15 points while Jen Dupper totaled 18 points and six rebounds.
Mesa Grande faces host Loma Linda for the championship at 8 p.m.

ONTARIO CHRISTIAN KNIGHT TIME CLASSIC

Alexandria Quincy and Kristen Trudo each had 22 points for St. Lucy’s (4-7) and Daniella Santana and Stephanie Drayer scored 15 and 14 points, respectively. The Regents play Maranatha at 3 p.m. today.
Morgan Rettie had 37 points for Calvary Chapel Murrieta.

ONTARIO CHRISTIAN KNIGHT TIME CLASSIC

Danielle Dirksen and Kaitlyn Fuller each scored eight points for the host Knights (6-4) in the second game of pool play.

NIGHTHAWK CLASSIC

Megan Allen had 11 points for the Thunderbirds (6-5) and Joline Castanon had 10. Yucaipa plays Temescal Canyon today at 7 p.m

PALM DESERT CLASSIC

Lauren Bushong had 25 points, 12 rebounds and five blocked shots for the Trojans (7-3). Olivia Geeson had 16 points and seven rebounds for Yucca Valley in the second-round win.
Yucca Valley plays Chaparral today at 2:30 p.m. at La Quinta in the semifinals.

SERRANO CLASSIC

Diamond Smith and Janae Sharpe scored 18 points each to help the Knights (9-1) advance to the second round with a win over the Jaguars (7-3).
Smith also added five assists while Sharpe had six steals for Rialto.

ONTARIO CHRISTIAN CHRISTMAS CLASSIC

Shaine Staab, Manuel Macias, Tyler Struiksma all scored a goal to lift the Knights (8-1).
Zach Oliver had two assists for Ontario Christian, which outshot Pasadena Poly 24-6.
The Knights will face Western Christian tomorrow at 11:30 a.m. for fourth place.

 

ONTARIO CHRISTIAN CHRISTMAS CLASSIC

Alan Supernaw scored four goals and Jung Lee had one to lift the Eagles (11-0-2), who will play in the title game today at 3 p.m.

SAN GORGONIO SHOOTOUT

Goaltender Enrique Martinez preserved the shootout win for the Spartans (3-5-4) after goals by Juan and Marco Lopez in regulation.

Goalie Luis Gutierrez led the Scorpions to the victory in a shootout. Ivan Garcia and Ramon Meza scored for the Spartans, who play Bloomington at 11 a.m. for third place in the consolation bracket.

CLAREMONT TOURNAMENT

The Highlanders captured the championship at the Claremont Tournament by beating West Torrance 3-1 in the semifinals and Diamond Bar 5-1 in the championship game.
Junior Dana Sanderlin had a good day with two goals and three assists. Judy Christopher also was a factor with two goals and two assists.
Diamond Bar advanced with a 2-0 win over San Dimas earlier in the day.


ONTARIO CHRISTIAN CHRISTMAS CLASSIC

Stephanie Munguia scored two goals, both assisted by Kaitlyn Mendoza, as the Knights (7-6-1) defeated visiting Canyon Springs in the semifinals.
Ontario Christian meets Riverside Notre Dame tomorrow at 1:15 p.m

ONTARIO CHRISTIAN TOURNAMENT

Janira Hernandez scored three goals to lead the Jaguars (4-9-1), who play Garey on Jan. 9 at 3 p.m.

RANCHO VERDE HOLIDAY CLASSIC


Camille Oscar, Tricia Falcon, Alyssa Bailey, and Mary Cruz-Castro all scored for the Lions over the Pacers, who had only eight players.
Karissa Pascula scored the lone goal for Pomona Catholic.

SAN GORGONIO TOURNAMENT

Kellci Tessendorf’s penalty-kick goal and Sam Wilson’s seven saves helped the Diamondbacks (13-1) send the Thunderbirds (13-1-1) to their first loss of the season.

SAN GORGONIO TOURNAMENT

Katie Hernandez scored the winning goal in a shootout as the Cougars (10-0-3) remained undefeated. Yucaipa’s Stephanie Vincie and Beaumont’s Vanessa Corona scored in regulation, and the Thunderbirds (13-1-2) outshot the Cougars 15-5 in regulation.

SAN GORGONIO TOURNAMENT

The Wildcats scored on three of their five penalty kicks in beating Beaumont. The game was even at 3 but Briana Campos, Erin Rhodes and Kelsey Gudgeon all scored on their shots while REV goalie Brittany Winegar prevented the Cougars from scoring on any of theirs.
REV will play local rival Redlands for third place at 11 a.m. tomorrow 12/28.

SAN GORGONIO TOURNAMENT

Tessendorf scored two goals and Melissa Ledesma added another as the Diamondbacks blanked the Wildcats (7-3). Sam Wilson recorded the shutout in goal.

KIWANIS TOURNAMENT

Marquis Green led all scorers with 22 points, including four three-pointers, as well as grabbed six rebounds to give the Cowboys (6-5) a first round victory over the Scots (6-5).
Cajon hit eight three’s in the first half on their way to a 39-11 halftime lead which they never relenquished.
Jamari Simmons contributed 11 points while Cajon teammate Chris Session added 10.
Kenny Acosta led Rim with nine points.

ONTARIO CHRISTIAN KNIGHT TIME CLASSIC

Antonio Solis scored 17 points, including five three-pointers, for the Bears (7-4) who staved off Calvin Christian in pool play.
Solis hit two of his three’s in the last two minutes and Kriss Proctor scored a game-high 27 points, including three of his own from beyond the arc for Big Bear.
Big Bear will square off with Arrowhead Christian at 4:40 p.m. today.

LOMA LINDA TOURNAMENT

Victoria Lowe had 18 points, six steals and four rebounds for the Roadrunners. Paula Hernandez had 10 points, seven rebounds and six steals.

ONTARIO CHRISTIAN TOURNAMENT

Danielle Dirksen scored 16 points and grabbed 13 rebounds as the Knights (5-4) won their first game of pool play over the Golden Eagles (3-9).
Maya Gwynn hit two 3-pointers on her way to seven points for Ontario Christian.

LOMA LINDA TOURNAMENT

Junior center Megan Williams had 16 points and 16 rebounds to lead the Cardinals (12-3) past the Eagles.
Senior guard Carla Bartlett added 11 points and 10 assists for Mesa Grande, which plays Escondido at 9 a.m. today.

BANNING TOURNAMENT

Sophomore guard Minyan Murphy scored 15 points and senior forward Nicole Cooper added 13 and eight rebounds as the Hawks 6-4) got past Moreno Valley in first round play at Banning.
Junior forward Ronni Reynolds added 14 points and dished out six assists.

DON LUGO TOURNAMENT

Jillian Shipes scored 11 and Kourtney Gilbert had 10 points for the Cowgirls (5-7) in a pool-play win over the Vikings.

The Ravens raced out to a 25-3 lead in the first quarter and didn’t look back in their first-round win.

Stephanie Perez booted five goals as the Cavaliers (3-4-7) downed Loma Linda Academy to cap a 2-0 day at the Ontario Christmas Tournament.
Earlier Cynthia Rivas scored in the first half and the defense made that hold up for the lone goal in a win over Don Lugo.

The Eagles (8-3-1) boast to 2-0 in the tournament with two wins over Great Oak and the Scorpions. Kristina Gomez and Christine Lopez scored both goals in their win over Great Oak and Mary Izydorek scored the final goal in the shootout in game two.

Sophomore forward Tiffany Pena scored four goals, two in each game, as the Cats (8-2-1) split their first two games in the San Gorgonio Winter Classic.

The Terriers (5-3), who won both their games on the day, got two goals from Casey Mendoza in the win over the Cats, with Angelina King and Hanna Rozzi also finding the net.

RANCHO VERDE HOLIDAY CLASSIC

Senior midfielder Karissa Pascual scored in the second half to prevent a shutout but the Pacers (3-8) fell to Magnolia at the Holiday Classic at Rancho Verde High School. Janel Sandoval had an assist on Pomona Catholic’s lone goal.

CLAREMONT TOURNAMENT

Chenin Young scored three goals and three assists for the Highlanders (6-1-4) in their day one sweep in the tournament. Dana Sanderlin scored two goals on the day for Upland.

PALOMA VALLEY WINTER SHOOTOUT


The Mustangs led 20-2 after the first quarter and were not challenged in beating the Bulldogs.
Sarunas Jackson led the effort with 11 points, seven rebounds and five blocks.

Juan Carlos Lopez tossed in 21 points on seven 3-pointers and dished out nine assists to lead the Jaguars (6-5) to a first round win at Whittier.

Davia Champagnie had 26 points and 16 rebounds to lead the Tigers (11-0) past West Covina. Also for the Tigers, Mauricio Aldaba had 14 points and 12 rebounds, Evan Jenkins had 11 points and Jordan Daniels had 10 assists.

The Panthers (8-3) only led 38-32 going into the fourth quarter but used a 22-point fourth in surging past Loara in first-round action at the Orange Classic at Chapman University.
Chris Cunningham talled 19 points and Ryan Kelly was next with 18 for the Panthers, who advance to play at 5:10 p.m. today.

All eleven Huskies (11-2) scored in there route over Duarte. Cory Harkey led with 12 points for Chino Hills which plays today at 8:30 p.m. in the second round.

Alan Suppernaw had four goals and two assists to lead the Eagles (10-0-2) to a pair of wins in tournament play.

AYALA TOURNAMENT

Four of the Hawks’ five starters scored in double figures as Arroyo Valley (6-4) took third place and also avenged a two-point nonleague loss earlier in the season in defeating the Cougars (6-4).
All-tournament selections Germaine Anderson and Joe Richard as well as James Sanders scored 20 points apiece while Byron Moses added 11.
Richard also had 17 rebounds and seven blocks for Arroyo Valley, which held Canyon Springs to only 28 combined points in the last three quarters after trailing 22-20 in the first quarter.

PROVIDENCE TOURNAMENT

Lillie Daniels scored five of her seven points in the final seconds, including a 3-pointer that gave the Eagles (10-4) the lead for good in the third-place game.
Daniels’ 3-pointer with about 10 seconds to play gave ACA a 43-41 lead, then she sank two free throws in the final seconds to ensure the win.
ACA held Taylor Lord, who had scored 30 points in the previous round, to only seven on Saturday. Lord picked up her third and fourth fouls early in the third quarter then fouled out early in the fourth. All-tournament selection Allegra Glaviano led ACA with 18 points, nine rebounds and five steals.

MAGNOLIA TOURNAMENT

Rebekah Gardner had 24 points, 10 rebounds and nine steals and Jasmin Holliday added 14 points and 11 rebounds as the Bulldogs (7-2) jumped to a 69-27 lead after three quarters and coasted to victory in the third-place game.
Ayala plays in its own Best of the West Tournament on Wednesday against Pasadena at 6:30 p.m.

The Cajon High School girls basketball team became the first San Bernardino County school to win the Gold Division of the Nike Invitational with a 67-35 victory over previously undefeated Hamilton (Chandler, Ariz.) on Saturday.
Bjonee Reaves led Cajon (7-1) with 17 points while Darshae Burnside had 14 points, 18 rebounds, eight blocks and four steals.
Point guard Layshia Clarendon had 14 points and 12 assists while Kori Walker held Hamilton’s (10-1) leading scorer, who averages 20+ points, to a total of six.
Cajon (7-1) will open the Ayala Best of the West Tournament against Capistrano Valley JSerra at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday at Ayala High School.

According to the Ayala announcer, Chino Hills accomplished something that had never been done in the 15 years of the Ayala Tournament: defeat the hosts.

The Huskies (10-2) handed the Bulldogs (8-2) their first-ever defeat in their own tournament in winning the title,
All-tournament selection Derek Brown scored 18 points, including four three-pointers, while tournament MVP Cory Harkey contributed 13. Michael Rodriguez was also named to the all-tournament team for Chino Hills.
Ayala was led by Adrian Baylon's 12 points.

Owen David scored 19 points, Kriss Proctor scored 13 and Vince Bauer had 12 points and eight rebounds to lead the Bears (6-4). Big Bear made 11 3-pointers in the game.

DOWNEY CALVARY CHAPEL TOURNAMENT

Bobby Nigg scored a career-high 35 points and grabbed nine rebounds, but the Knights (3-5) fell to the Buccaneers (4-5) in the fifth-place game.
Nigg made 15 of 27 shots from the field, and Ontario Christian led by five points in the final two minutes of regulation.
But Keon Pledger, who led Bellflower with 33 points, made his third 3-pointer with about 30 seconds to play to tie the score 61-61. A shot by Nigg in the final couple of seconds of regulation rimmed out.
Ontario Christian next plays in its own tournament on Wednesday against Garey at 7:30 p.m.

AYALA DOGFIGHT TOURNAMENT

Sophomores Derek Brown and Micahel Rodriguez scored 19 and 17 points, respectively, to give the Huskies (9-2) a pool play sweep with a win over the Cats.
Greg Giron added 16 points for Chino Hills, who hit eight three-pointers to pull away.
Chino Hills faces cross-town rival and tournament host Ayala today at 7 p.m. for the championship.

Tristan Kirk scored 26 points, including going 3-for-4 from the 3-point arc to lead the Terriers (10-0, 2-0). Kirk also had six rebounds.
Kirk had 20 second-half points.

Philip Cervantes scored three goals in two games to boost Chino to a 3-2 win over Culver City and a 2-1 win over Bishop Montgomery in consolation bracket play at the Torrance Championship tournament.
The Cowboys (4-2-1) overcame a 2-1 deficit in the opening game.
Shane Taylor was the winning goalkeeper in both but needed to make a total of just five saves.
Chino will play Tesoro at 10:30 a.m. today in a consolation semifinal.

Mauricio Aldaba scored 22 points and added 22 rebounds and seven blocks as Chaffey High School’s boys basketball team (8-0) remained undefeated with a victory over host Garey in the two teams’ Mt. Baldy League opener on Tuesday.
Freshman Jordan Daniels had 13 assists and freshman Evan Jenkins came off the bench to score 18 points for Chaffey, which never relinquished a 23-12 lead after the first quarter.

Ericka Norman led the Huskies (6-4) with 22 points while Chariah Harris had 11 points and 10 rebounds. Antoinette Scott had 10 points to lead Corona (2-6).

The Jaguars won their fourth consecutive game after only leading 27-22 at halftime over the Cavaliers..

Ontario (5-4) outscored Montclair (2-9) 34-11 in the second half. Brandon Tuggle had his best game of the season as he scored 27 points, eight rebounds, eight blocks and six assists for Ontario while Akeem Nesbeth added 14 points, six assists and four steals.

Ontario hosts West Covina Thursday at 6:30 p.m. in a nonleague matchup.

RIM OF THE WORLD TOURNAMENT

Yucaipa got revenge over Temecula Valley, which beat them in the first round of the CIF-SS Division II playoffs and knocked them out of last year’s tournament. Yucaipa took home its second tournament championship this season.
Amanda Simpson scored the only goal for the Thunderbirds (9-0-1) off an assist from April Moreno.

LINFIELD CHRISTIAN TOURNAMENT

Kaitlyn Mendoza and Stephanie Munguia scored for the Knights, who tied the Royals in pool play.
Goalie Emily Lloyd had three saves <NO1>while Tiffany Tflucker picked up her first varsity assist<NO>for Ontario Christian.

LINFIELD CHRISTIAN TOURNAMENT

Kaitlyn Mendoza, Marisella Macias and Taylor Libolt each scored one goal for the Knights (3-6-1), who took fifth place with a victory over the Eagles.
Ontario Christian out-shot Upland Christian, 29-1.
Upland Christian’s Brooke Klotschinski saved 11 shots.

GAREY TOURNAMENT

Goalie Michelle Aguirre had six saves but the Pacers (3-5) fell to California in a pool play game. Marissa Billings came on as a substitute and recorded four saves. Pomona Catholic will face Chino at Garey High School on Saturday, December 22 at 9:10 a.m. to continue the tournament.

GAREY TOURNAMENT

Tracy Rivera and Ariana Hollings scored second-half goals to help the Pacers (3-5) overcome a 1-0 halftime deficit and earn a pool play victory.
Nicole Fox had two saves for Pomona Catholic, who was outshot 7-5 by Nogales.

Roxanne Alcala got things started for Ontario with a 50-yard shot into the net in the first half.
The Jaguars (3-5-0) were led by freshman forward, Mady Ramos, whose score in the final 10 minutes. The Jaguars’ next game is on Tuesday as they open up Mt. Baldy League play at home against Montclair High School at 3 p.m.

Kennyanna Jefferson scored 23 points with six steals and five assits for the Eagles (6-1) in their win over visiting Hamilton.

All-tournament selection Emily Vore scored 25 points and grabbed 13 rebounds to lead the Terriers (7-1) to a third-place finish after being runner-up in last year’s tournament.
Lauren Jacobs had 12 points and 6 assists while Alina Astilean had a game-high 9 assists for Redlands.

RANCHO VERDE TOURNAMENT

Amani Butler scored 22 points and seven assists as the Titans (10-2) took home the tournament title with a win over the Knights (6-1).
All-tournament selection Camille Buckley contributed 20 points and seven rebounds while Jazmyne White had 11 points. Tournament MVP and defensive specialist Asasha Butler had three steals.

BURBANK BURROUGHS TOURNAMENT

Cierra Warren scored 36 points with 17 rebounds as the Grizzlies (7-1) defeated the Mounties (8-1) to take the championship trophy.
Warren totaled 126 points in the four game tournament for Los Osos.
Also, for Los Osos was Amanda Copas who was named to the all-tournament team along with Warren.
Los Osos plays host to Riverside North Wednesday at 6:30 p.m.

Michael Meza scored 10 points to lead the Eagles (6-1) past the visiting Bobcats (5-2).
Clark Duvall contributed eight points for Upland Christian, who will go on the road to rematch with Hamilton on Thursday at 7 p.m.

SONORA-TROY TOURNAMENT

The Brahmas (6-4) had a 15-point lead entering the fourth quarter and did not relinquish it in defeating Sonora (6-4) in the 11th-place game.
Kacy Barlow had 19 points and Eli York had 16 points, 7 rebounds and 4 blocks for Diamond Bar.

HESPERIA TOURNAMENT

The Cardinals (3-6) outscored the Patriots 21-5 in the third quarter to lead the way to a fifth-place finish after finishing fourth last year.
Faron Green, who had an electric off-the-backboard, alley-oop dunk from Tim Harris in the third quarter, led the Cardinals with 13 points, 15 rebounds and six blocks. Harris and teammate Devonte Chattman also had 20 points apiece.
Hesperia Christian was led by Jordan Vargas’ 27 points while Seth Thomas contributed 14 points.

ALHAMBRA TOURNAMENT

The Bearcats (9-1) held off a late run by Santa Fe to win the championship.
Bonita, who was the runner-up in last year’s tournament, was lead by All-tournament selection Nolan Abernathy’s 21 points. Tournament MVP and defensive specialist Garr Becker contributed eight points.

SAN DIMAS TOURNAMENT

Championship

Tournament-MVP Lute Seluini scored 17 points, including five three-pointers, and all-tournament selection Teonna Campbell scored a game-high 19 points to lead the Tigers (8-0) to the tournament title with a win over the Indians (7-2).

Chaffey, who won the consolation championship last year, also had all-tournament pick Joyce Koloa score 11 points while Monet Smith grabbed 14 rebounds after coming off of a 21 rebound performance last night in the semifinals. 

WEST COVINA TOURNAMENT

Brandon Tuggle scored 15 points to lead the Jaguars (4-4) to a third-place finish with a win over the Hawks.
Juan-Carlos Lopez scored 14 points, including four three-pointers, while Luis Vargas contributed 12 points, six rebounds, five assists and five steals for Ontario, who led 46-19 at the half.
Ontario plays at Montclair on Tuesday to open up Mt. Baldy League play.

Point guard Martin Thompson set the tone defensively and also had six assists to help lift the Cowboys (5-4) from a 31-23 halftime deficit to a third round victory over the Tar Heels.
Tyree Harrison scored 14 points, including three three-pointers in the fourth quarter, for Cajon which had nine total three-pointers.

DE ANZA LEAGUE

Montreal Harris scored 27 points for the Wildcats (3-0 De Anza League) which almost lost the lead to the Bears (5-3, 1-1).
Owen David and Kriss Proctor each scored 11 for the Bears.

SONORA TOURNAMENT

Kacey Barlow scored 24 points, including three-three pointers, and grabbed five rebounds to lead the Brahmas (5-4) to victory over the Tartars (3-6).
Diamond Bar outscored Torrance 41-17 in the second and third quarters combined after being outscored 15-4 in the first quarter. Travis Hummel had 12 points and eight rebounds for the Brahmas.

Austin Napolitano scored 20 points and Trevor Woodland had <NO1>follwed with<NO>18 for the Spartans (8-3) to beat the Steelers in a seventh-place game.
