REDLANDS — Senior 6-8 center Reyer Van Mouwerik came off the bench to score a career-high 21 points as Redlands High School remained unbeaten by rolling over crosstown rival Redlands East Valley 69-55 in a Citrus Belt League game Wednesday.
“There’s starting to be a little bit of pressure,” Van Mouwerik said of the Terriers’ perfect 18-0 record. “But it makes it fun.”
“We’re trying not to think about it,” junior guard Ricky Peetz said. “Teams are coming in and playing extra hard against us, but we’re trying to think of ourselves as underdogs.”
Redlands figures to be severely tested Friday when the Terriers go to Eisenhower to meet the Eagles in a battle of teams 6-0 in league play — and ranked Nos. 1 and 2 in the CIF-Southern Section Division II-AA poll.
“That will be a great game,” REV coach Bill Berich said. “I’d go see it if we weren’t playing.”
