DIVISION IV

Bloomington 2, Baldwin Park 1 (OT)
Bryan Mejia headed in the game-winning goal off an Albert Guzman free kick near the end of the first overtime to lift the Bloomington boys soccer team to a 2-1 win over Baldwin Park (11-7-1) on Tuesday in the CIF-SS Division IV playoffs.
With the victory, the Bruins (12-10-3), will make their first quarterfinal appearance in six years. Bloomington plays host to undefeated No. 1 seed Santa Monica at 5 p.m. Thursday.
Guzman also assisted Rey Blanco’s goal in the 25th minute<NO1> to help send the contest to a 1-1 tie at the half. Goalie Anthony Perez stopped five shots for Bloomington.

DIVISION VI

Arrowhead Christian 3, Linfield Christian 0
ACA senior Alan Supernaw scored two goals and added an assist as the Eagles defeated host Linfield Christian 3-0 to advance to Thursday’s CIF-SS Division VI quarterfinals against St. Margaret’s of San Juan Capistrano.
Senior TJ Pearce had a goal and an assist for Arrowhead (21-0-3).
The Tartans (13-8-1), 2-0 winners over St. Paul Tuesday, lost to the Eagles 5-1 on Dec. 27. The site of Thursday’s matchup yet to be determined.
