UPLAND TOURNAMENT

Upland 5, Montclair 3
Craig Riggle delivered a two-run double in the second inning and the Upland baseball team never trailed in beating Montclair 5-3 on Monday in the opening game of the Upland Tournament at Memorial Park.
Steve Ascededo and Nik O’Loughlin each batted in runs for Upland (3-0) in support of winning pitcher Ryan Bast (2-0).

Chaffey 8, Jurupa Valley 5
Jonathan Fierro broke a 5-5 tie with a two-run double in the fifth and scored on an RBI single by winning pitcher Jose Guillen as the Tigers (1-1) won their first game of the year.
Jacob Denault had four hits, including a double and triple, and two RBIs for Chaffey, while Guillen also had three hits and two RBIs.

CHINO TOURNAMENT

Chino 8, Ontario 1
The Cowboys (3-1) defeated the Jaguars (2-2) to advance to the quarterfinals against Kaiser.
Chino’s Garrett Branske went 2-for-3 with two RBIs and two runs scored off two doubles while Kyle Nutter (1-0) struck out seven and allowed only one run in five innings of work.

Fontana 17, Woodcrest Christian 1
Jesse Martinez opened with a three-run homer and Nolan Mullaney added two singles and a double for five RBIs in the Steelers’ (1-1) victory.
Catcher Ramon Ramos also added two singles and a double and batted in a run for Fontana, which broke the game open with a seven-run fourth.

Garey 12, Hemet 9
The Vikings (1-0-1) scored six runs in the second inning and went on to defeat the Bulldogs (0-2) in the consolation bracket.
Garey was led by Sammy Garcia who went 3-for-4 with three RBIs and Alfred Ramirez went 2-for-2 with two RBIs.

Kaiser 14, Temecula Chaparral 5
The Cats (1-0-1) advance to meet tournament host Chino with a second-round victory over the Pumas (1-1).
Kaiser’s Troy Burrud went 3-for-4 with two RBIs and Marcos Ramos went 2-for-3 with two RBIs.

Miller 21, Eisenhower 5
The Rebels (1-1) defeated the Eagles (0-2) to advance to the consolation bracket quarterfinals on Wednesday.
Ceaser Aguilar went 4-for-5 with three doubles and five RBIs, while Brooks Martinez went 3-for-4 with three runs and three RBIs. Eisenhower was led by Ricardo Ramirez’s one RBI and run scored.

Norte Vista 11, Chino Hills 6
Chris Carlson had a double and homer for the Huskies (3-1) but it wasn’t enough as the Braves broke open a 4-2 game with a seven-run outburst in the fourth inning.

Redlands East Valley 4, Valley View 2
Matt Andries went 2-for-4 with an RBI to lead the Wildcats (2-0) past the Eagles (3-1) and into the quarterfinals.
REV’s Josh Salmon went 2-for-2 with a run scored.

San Dimas 9, Yucaipa 2
The Saints (2-0) defeated the Thunderbirds (1-1) in the second round.
Yucaipa’s Grady Espinoza and Chad Erickson had an RBI each.

CLAREMONT TOURNAMENT

Los Osos 15, Pasadena Blair 1
Isaac Galloway went 2-for-3, including a solo home run, and Matt Watson had three RBIs to lead the Grizzlies (2-0) past Blair (0-2).
Los Osos’ Arby Fields, Rick Brehaut and Jake Hernandez had two RBIs apiece.

DON LUGO TOURNAMENT

Don Lugo 9, Baldwin Park 3
J.C. Guerra had a two-run triple to highlight a six-run fourth inning to lead Don Lugo (2-2) to the victory.
The Conquistadores will play at Covina South Hills on Wednesday in the next round of the tournament.

Ayala 4, Rowland 0
Kyle Ginter knocked in three runs on three singles as the Bulldogs (4-0) remained undefeated in pool play.
Richard erry and Ethan Miller combined on a two-hit shutout against thge Raiders (0-1-1), not allowing a runner to reach third base.

GLENDORA TOURNAMENT

Alta Loma 4, Murrieta Valley 3
Justin Broussard scored a manfactured run on a passed ball in the last of the seventh for the Braves (2-0), who were outhit by Nighthawks (1-1).
Auston Doffey, whose single moved Broussard to third base, had two hits and an RBI, while Ryan Cunningham and Justin Perryman also batted in runs.

BANNING TOURNAMENT

Arrowhead Christian 13, San Bernardino 7

The Eagles defeated the visiting Cardinals (0-1) to open the Banning Tournament.
Arrowhead Christian banged out 12 hits. Kyle Van Uffelen went 2-for-3 with two RBIs as they took a 9-4 lead after three innings.
San Bernardino was led by Nathan Nelson’s two runs and RBI.

Redlands 6, Indio 0
Charlie Lutz (1-0) struck out five to lift the Terriers (1-0) to the next round.
Redlands’ Wes Cottier went 3-for-3 with two RBIs while Ryne Arnold went 2-for-3.

PALM DESERT TOURNAMENT

Cajon 12, San Jacinto 3
The Cowboys (1-0) defeated the Tigers (2-1) in the first round.
Cajon’s Mike Finnigan went 3-for-4 with three RBIs and Brandon Swanson had four RBIs, including a two-run double in the first.
