UPLAND TOURNAMENT

CHAFFEY 14, PALMDALE KNIGHT 5

The Chaffey High School baseball team opened with seven runs in the first inning to beat Palmdale Knight 14-5 on Tuesday in the Upland Tournament at Jay Littleton Field in Ontario.
Nick Brown had a triple and a single to bat in three runs, while Richard Sanchez added a double and two singles for two RBI. Jose Guillen also had two hits for the Tigers (2-2), who will play host to Sultana on Thursday at Littleton.

SULTANA 21, JURUPA VALLEY 0
NO, not a type-o, but the Sultans (3-0) really did defeat Jurupa by that much. They hit four home runs in their victory over the Jaguars in the second round of the Upland Tournament.
Wade Hightower doubled, tripled and homered, driving in five runs.

LOARA TOURNAMENT
Diamond Bar 4, Riverside North 3 (9 inn.)
Jake Ludvik’s single in thelast of the ninth inning scored the game winner for the Brahmas (2-1) against the Huskies, who tied the game in the seventh.
Chester Pak doubled to open the ninth and scored the winning run. Corey Lavier’s two-run single in the fifth tied the game at 2-2.

BANNING TOURNAMENT
REDLANDS 7, ACA 1

Kyle Breault went 2-for-3 with two runs and two stolen bases for the Terriers in a win over the crosstown Eagles.
Joe Jerome pitched six innings, striking out nine and allowing three hits for Redlands.

FOOTHILL TOURNAMENT
CARTER 7, FULLERTON TROY 5

Albert Enriquez went 3-for-3 with an RBI and a run as the Lions (1-2) earned their first win of the season.

NONLEAGUE
Bloomington Christian 13, Hesperia Chr. 4 (5 inn.)
Will Abel went 3-for-3 with two doubles and two RBI for the Ravens (2-0) in a win over the Patriots.
Jesse Sahagun went 2-for-3 with a pair of RBI and struck out nine in five innings on the mound.

Upland Christian 16, Webb 1
Matt Johnston pitched a complete game and Ethan Chapman had a grand slam and a double to lead Upland Christian (1-5).

San Gorgonio 13, Rim of the World 6
Nick Heusterberg and Ryan Nelson each homered and Alex Rueda had two doubles to lead the Spartans.
Aaron Rueda was the winning pitcher, picking up his second victory of the season.

Indio 12, San Bernardino 1

Doug Bender’s RBI single in the fourth inning gave the Cardinals their only run.
