ARROYO VALLEY TOURNAMENT
Summit 1, Carter 0
The Skyhawks (5-1) defeated the Lions to take home third place in the tournament. Brittany Dunn threw eight strikeouts and was also named to first team all tournament. Dunn’s double also drove in Summit’s only and game winning run.
Pacific 12, Vista del Lago 2
Jessica Leon hit a two run triple for the Pirates (2-4) over the Lions to take third in the consolation bracket.
Pitcher Jessica Nikaido threw seven strikeouts and threw no walks also hitting a RBI double for Pacific.
BISOP AMAT TOURNAMENT
Redlands 9, Bishop Amat 8
Kim Bruins pitched her fourth double digit striekout performance throwing out 10 in Saturday’s consolation championship win over host Bishop Amat.
The junior also went 2-for-3 with an RBI followed by Jessica Alvarado who hit a two run double to tie the game and eventually give the Terriers (3-1) the win.
Kendall Apodaca had three RBI and scored once for Redlands.
UPLAND TOURNAMENT
Claremont 3, Western Christian 2
Lili Caughman struck out 10 with now walks for the Wolfpack (1-6) over Western Christian to earn their first win.
[SCORELINE]Aquinas 4-10, Big Bear 3-7
Aquinas (6-2) came from behind in both games to sweep a home double header against Big Bear (1-5), winning 4-3 and 10-7.
In the first game, sophomore pitcher Stevie Goldstein gave up no earned runs and struck out seven. Catelyn Ogle finished 3-for-4 with two RBI. Down 3-2, it was Ogle’s basehit to left-center in the bottom of the seventh that scored two runs.
In game two, Goldstein was the hero after hitting a walk-off three-run homer in the bottom of the seventh to break a 7-7 tie. She finished 3-for-5 with five RBI and also came in relief in the fourth, striking out six batters in just 2 2/3 innings. Freshman Kaitlyn Haynes hit 4-for-5 with an RBI.
Aquinas will be at Arroyo Valley on Monday for another nonleague game.
