CHINO TOURNAMENT

REV 10, NORCO 4

David Andrese went 3-for-4 with two RBI to lead the Redlands East Valley baseball team past Norco 10-4 in the Chino Tournament’s third-place game Tuesday.
Matt Andrese, Eric Young and Paul Eshelman each had two hits for REV (4-1). Norco’s Matt Hobgood went 2-for-3 with three RBI, including a double and home run.
REV led 3-0 early. After REV plated six runs in the fifth inning, Norco (5-2) faced a 10-1 deficit.

BASELINE LEAGUE
Alta Loma 8, Claremont 5
Steve Cazares (3-0) pitched 3 innings of shutout ball, striking out five and walking none.
Also for the Braves, Mike Newell hit a single and a triple.
Alta Loma (4-1, 1-0) hosts Claremont at 3 p.m. Thursday.
Upland 8, Etiwanda 3
Chris Butler (3-0) pitched a five-hitter for the Highlanders, striking out six and walking two.
Matt Redfern had three hits and Frankie Christian two for Upland (7-0, 1-0). The Highlanders play Rancho Cucamonga on Thursday at Upland Memorial Park.
Etiwanda (4-3, 0-1) travels to Los Osos on Thursday.

CHINO TOURNAMENT
Yucaipa 12, Chaparral 2
Chad Erickson went 4-for-5 with three RBI and three runs scored for the Thunderbirds (4-1).
Chad Erickson hit a three run homer for Yucaipa, which plays at Redlands today at 3:15 p.m. to open Citrus Belt League play.

Miller 1, Fontana 0
Plascencia warmed up for the start of league by stymying the Steelers (2-3). Plascencia, who has signed with Cal State Bakersfield, allowed three hits and struck out nine without a walk. Alex Camarillo had the game-winning hit for the Rebels (2-2-1) in the bottom of the seventh inning. Zac Fisher had two hits for the Rebels. Miller plays Yucaipa at 7 p.m. Saturday at Arrowhead Credit Union Park. Fontana also plays Redlands East Valley Saturday at Arrowhead in another league opener.

Rialto 9, Hemet 2
Eric Hernandez and and Abel Osuna each went 3-for-3 with three RBI for the Knights (4-3) as they won their last game of the tournament.
Hernandez had a double, triple and a home run while Osuna had two doubles and a triple.
Rialto starts Citrus Belt League play next Wednesday when they face Yucaipa at home at 3 p.m.

MESA GRANDE TOURNAMENT
Arrowhead Christian 4, Twentynine Palms 2
Kyle Van Uffelen scored two runs as the Eagles (3-3) defeated the Trojans in pool play.
Christian Pena struck out six in three innings of relief for ACA, which continues tournament pool play Thursday.

NONLEAGUE
Bloomington Christian 11, Apple Valley Christian 5
<MC>Eddie Matos went 4-for-5 with an RBI and pitched a complete game in the Bloomington Christian victory.
Carlos Pena went 4-for-4 with an RBI for the Ravens (3-2) and Will Abel went 2-for-4 with two RBI.
Bloomington Christian plays Twentynine Palms today at 6 p.m. in the Mesa Grande tournament.
