CITRUS BELT LEAGUE
CARTER 4, REDLANDS 3, 10 INN.
Alex Morimoto singled home Jay Quemada from second base in the 10th inning to give Carter a 4-3 win over Redlands on Wednesday.
Morimoto and Kyle Rodman each had two hits and two RBI in the Citrus Belt League opener for the Lions (7-3, 1-0), who host Eisenhower on Friday at 3:15 p.m.
Redlands (0-2) hosts Fontana on Friday.
Yucaipa 8, Rialto 4
Matt Davidson had two home runs and five RBI for the Thunderbirds (7-1, 3-0) in a win over the Knights (0-1 CBL).
Wyatt Padgett went 3-for-4 with two RBI for first-place Yucaipa.
Rialto’s Danny Santiago went 2-for-3 with a double and drove in all four of his team’s runs.
Redlands East Valley 11, Eisenhower 0
Eric Young, one of five REV players with multiple hits, was 2-for-3 with three RBI.
REV (6-1, 2-0), which led 4-0 after the first inning and 9-0 after the second, plays Friday at Yucaipa.
Fontana 5, Miller 4
Eddie Ortiz had two hits and Nolan Mullaney had two hits and three RBI to pace the Steelers (3-4, 1-1), who play at Redlands at 3:15 p.m. Friday.
Ricky Plascencia and David Palomino hit home runs for Miller (2-4-1, 0-2).
Adam Huizar and Evan Aceves combined to limit Miller (2-4-1, 0-2) to seven hits.
MT. BALDY LEAGUE
Garey 7, Ontario 5
Senior third baseman Sammy Garcia went 3-for-4 with a double, a triple and two RBI for the Vikings (4-2-2, 3-0
Sophomore outfielder Vincent Velasquez went 2-for-4 while senior first baseman Alfred Ramirez went 3-for-4.
Ontario got two hits and three RBI from first baseman Justin Randall.
Don Lugo 6, Montclair 3
Justin Orona went 3-for-3 with an RBI for the Conquistadores (4-4, 1-1) over the Cavaliers. Allende Esquevel added two more RBI for Don Lugo, which hosts Garey Friday at 3:15 p.m.
Colony 7, Chaffey 5
Scott Stevenson and Levi Donaldson each went 2-for-4 with a pair of RBI and two runs scored for Colony’s win over the Panthers.
SUNKIST LEAGUE
Kaiser 3, Norte Vista 2
Junior outfielder Jasper Ramirez stroked a two-out RBI single in the bottom of the fifth for the deciding run as the Cats (3-3-1, 2-0) slipped past the Braves.
Lavell Mann, who reached on a double, scored the winning run.
The Cats also got a strong outing from junior right-hander Andrew Nunez (1-1) who scattered five hits in four and two-third scoreless innings and struck out three.
VALLE VISTA LEAGUE
Pomona 1, Baldwin Park 0
David Ramirez singled in the only run in the fifth inning for the Red Devils (4-6, 2-0), who play at San Dimas on Friday at 3:15 p.m. Baldwin Park is now 0-6, 0-2 and plays at Ganesha on Friday at 3:15 p.m.
