SOFTBALL

SAN ANDREAS LEAGUE
Colton 12, San Gorgonio 1
Sophomore Vanity Martinez hit a grand slam, then a two-run home run for the Yellowjackets (3-3, 1-0), who topped the Spartans (2-7, 0-1).
Eileen Garcia  threw five strikeout in just three hits and was 3-for-4 with three RBI for Colton.

Cajon 20, San Bernardino 0
The Cowgirls scored 10 first-inning runs. Alex Mitchell led Cajon (5-1, 2-0) with three hits and six RBI. Cajon hosts Arroyo Valley at 3:15 p.m. Friday. SBHS is 0-6, 0-3.

SUNKIST LEAGUE
Kaiser 13, Norte Vista 0
Sophomore Alyssia Palomino contributed big at the plate and in the circle to lead the Cats (6-4, 1-0) to a win over the Braves in the league opener for both teams. Sophomore second baseman Chelsea Hoban went 2-for-3 with two RBI. Junior first baseman Marquis Lozoya had two hits and scored three runs.

CITRUS BELT LEAGUE
Yucaipa 4, Rialto 0
Megan Allen went 2-for-3 with two doubles and a triple for the Thunderbirds (7-4, 1-0). Jessica English had seven strikeouts and allowed only one walk for Yucaipa.
Fontana 1, Miller 0
The Steelers managed an unearned run in the fifth inning after Alyssa Rivera singled. She was sacrificed to second base and scored when the throw to first base sailed down the right-field line.
Fontana ace Kayla Uphold held the Rebels to two hits, striking out five and walking none.

Redlands East Valley 11, Eisenhower 2
Danielle Torrez went 3-for-5 with a double and an RBI for the Wildcats (6-5, 1-0.

Redlands 4, Carter 3
Savannah Garcia hit a three-run home run in the first inning<NO1> to spark a four-run rally<NO>.
Also for Redlands (9-1, 1-0), Kim Bruins, Jessica Garcia and Brittany Yzaguirre had two hits each.
Carter’s Rachel Varela had three hit<NO1> and made a tremendous diving catch in center field<NO>s.
Savannah Garcia struck out the last two batters of the game after Carter (5-7, 0-1) loaded the bases with one out.


BASELINE LEAGUE
Rancho Cucamonga 2, Etiwanda 1
Adrienne Monka’s double in the first brought in Caitlin King and Monka scored in the fourth on a double by Amanda Ramirez to lead the Cougars (7-5, 1-1) past host Etiwanda (9-3, 1-1).
Rancho Cucamonga plays at Claremont and Etiwanda visits Alta Loma on Friday.

Los Osos 8, Alta Loma 0
The Grizzlies (7-2, 1-1) scored six runs in the seventh on six hits to put away the Braves. Senior center fielder Reanna Johnson had a two-run single in the rally. Katlyn Mann and Cashmier Rubio also singled home runs.
Freshman third baseman Tori Hernandez and junior first baseman Alli Kalfopoulos each went 2-for-4 with a stolen base.

Upland 7, Claremont 1
Daryn Schibeley had three hits and three RBI and Kacie Rapshus, Kristina Ventura and Persie Romero all had two hits for Upland (9-2-1, 2-0), which plays at Los Osos on Friday at 3:15 p.m.
Lauren Lavarius had two hits and two RBI for Claremont.

MT. BALDY LEAGUE
Chaffey 9, Colony 1
Jayna Loy finished 2-for-4 with a triple, a home run and three RBI and Stacee Cuphert finished 3-for-4 and scored three runs for Chaffey (3-0 Mt. Baldy League) as they improved to 3-0 in league play. Tigers pitcher Syvannah Kooyman picked up her third win of the season, striking out 10.
Chaffey (4-3, 3-0) travels to Ontario on Friday for a 3:15 p.m. game.

Ontario 27, Garey 1
Vivian Young went 3-for-5, including two solo home runs and didn’t allow a hit in five innings to lead Ontario (5-2, 1-0) to a runaway win in its league opener.
Erica Suarez was 4-for-6 with three RBI and Pricilla Anda was 3-for-5 with two RBI for the Jaguars.

PACKINGHOUSE CHRISTIAN TOURNAMENT
Upland Christian 20, CSDR 4
Bri Remlinger hit two home runs totaling six RBI with five runs scored in the Eagles’ (9-5-1) victory over the Cubs in pool play.

NONLEAGUE
Aquinas 13, Riverside Notre Dame 0
Catelyn Ogle had three hits and an RBI to pace the Falcons (10-3), who play at Banning in a double-header on March 29.
Stevie Goldstein pitched a one-hitter for Aquinas.
