BASELINE LEAGUE
Upland 10, Los Osos 4
Kris Butler doubled twice and Upland High School baseball team remained undefeated with a 10-4 win over visiting Los Osos on Thursday.
Brian Kujundzich pitched a complete game for the Highlanders (10-0, 4-0), and Matt Watson doubled in the loss for the Grizzlies (1-2 in league).
Etiwanda 2, Alta Loma 0
Ricky Oropesa pitched five innings, struck out 10 and walked nobody to get the win. Jonny Traber hit two doubles, including one in the Braves’ key two-run second inning. Oropesa also had two hits for the Eagles (6-4, 2-2).
Pitching well for Alta Loma (2-2 league) was Kolby Gurney, who gave up five hits, struck out nine and walked one in a complete-game effort.
ARROWHEAD LEAGUE
Upland Christian 16, Boys Republic 1
Ethan Chapman went 4-for-4 with a homer, triple and two doubles for the Eagles’ victory (3-8, 1-0) over the Rams.
CHRISTIAN LEAGUE
Aquinas 4, Arrowhead Christian 0
Patricio Martinez tossed a four-hitter and struck out eight, and also drove in two of the Falcons’ runs in the victory.
Junior center fielder Taylor Marrinan also went 2-for-3 with two RBI for Aquinas (6-3, 2-1). Kyle Hogan doubled in the loss for the Eagles (5-6, 1-1).
MIRAMONTE LEAGUE
Diamond Ranch 8, Haceinda Heights Wilson 4
Jericho Kelsey scored twice and had two doubles for the Panthers (4-4, 2-0) over the Wildcats.
Nick Green drove in two runs and scored once from third from a double by Keslet or Diamond Ranch.
SAN ANDREAS LEAGUE
Cajon 6, Arroyo Valley 3
Aaron Brooks went 2-for-3 with three RBI and a home run as the Cajon High School baseball team beat Arroyo Valley, 6-3 on Thursday.
Brandon Swanson went 2-for-2 with an RBI and a run scored for Cajon (6-1 overall, 3-0 San Andreas League), which now takes sole possesion of first place.
Zach Sumpter went 1-for-3 with an RBI for Arroyo Valley (6-3, 2-1).
San Gorgonio 18, San Bernardino 0
The Spartans (7-1, 1-1) scored 12 runs in the first two innings, collected 17 hits total and shut out the Cardinals (0-7, 0-2) on the road.
Gonzaga Quijada hit a home run, Andy Crowley doubled and tripled and Nick Heusterberg and Dallas Pender added doubles for San G.
For San Bernardino, Jordan Gomez and Rio Lewis had doubles in the loss.
SIERRA LEAGUE
Glendora 4, Chino 1
The Tartans (5-4, 2-1) scored three runs in the third inning and never trailed in the road victory.
Glendora pitcher James Janclaef allowed one run in five innings for the victory. Ryan Perez went 2-for-3 for Chino (8-2, 2-1).
Chino Hills 11, Ayala 3
Matt Lowenstein went 2-for-2 with a home run and two RBI, and the Huskies scored seven runs in the fifth inning to seal the road victory.
Pitcher Jonathan Montoya improved to 3-0 with a complete game for Chino Hills (8-2, 3-0).
Diamond Bar 8, Damien 7
Shortstop Robert Pak fielded the game-ending fielder’s choice and the Brahmas (4-4-1, 1-2) held on to beat the Spartans (1-2 in league).
Damien rallied from an 8-5 deficit in the top of the seventh when Ray Ortega tripled home two runs, but he was thrown out at the plate trying to make it an inside-the-park home run. Damien got two more runners on base in the seventh but couldn’t score the tying run.
Jake Ludvik hit a three-run double in the fifth that gave Diamond Bar a 7-5 lead then scored the Brahmas’ eighth run later in the inning. Diamond Bar’s Jake Urban pitched a complete game.
VICTORY LEAGUE
Bloomington Christian 7, Palm Springs Desert Chapel 2
Jorge Pena went 2-for-3 with two RBI and a stolen base from second in which he eventually scored for the Ravens (6-3, 1-0).
