Lakewood broke a 4-4 tie in the bottom of the seventh inning of a consolation bracket game with a leadoff single followed by an RBI double.
April Vasquez went 3-for-4 with two RBI for Colton (8-5, 4-0) and Clarissa Molina went the distance, allowed nine hits and struck out nine.
Colton 8, Murrieta Valley 0
Colton’s April Vasquez went 2-for-3, including a grand slam in the seven-run second inning.The win gave Colton (9-5) sixth place in the tournament.
In a battle for first place in the San Andreas League, the Yellowjackets host Cajon, which is also 4-0 in league, on Tuesday.

NONLEAGUE

Cajon 2-5, Diamond Bar 1-7
The Cowgirls and Brahmas split the doubleheader decision at Diamond Bar. In game one, it was Cajon’s ace pitcher Terilyn Baude who threw a complete seven strikeout performance for Cajon (10-5). She only gave up five hits and just one run to Diamond Bar’s (7-6) Stephany La Rossa solo homer in the sixth. Lindsey Kent and Brehanna Rodriguez each went 5-for-8 on the day driving in two runs a piece.
In game two, Emily Kuper became the hero with a fifth inning grand slam down 5-0 to start a rally eventually giving the Brahmas the win.
Cajon continues San Andreas League play Tuesday at Colton at 3:15 p.m.
