L.O GIVES 1st PLACE UPLAND K.O.
The Grizzlies (10-8, 4-6) upset first-place Upland, 15-5, on Tuesday with home runs from Jake Hernandez and Rich Brehaut.
Each hit three-run shots for the Grizzlies (10-8, 4-6). Jordan Dressner drove in three as well for third-place Los Osos.
Matt Redfern drove in two runs for Upland (14-4, 7-2), which has lost consecutive leage games.
ARROWHEAD LEAGUE
Upland Christian 13, Boys Republic 2
The Eagles shined against Steve McQueen’s alma mater, led by Matt Proulx with three hits and four RBI. Proulx also limited the Rams to four hits, while striking out 11 and walking nobody.
Upland Christian travels to the High Desert on Thursday to take on Hesperia Christian at 3:15 p.m. in a non-league game.
BASELINE LEAGUE
Alta Loma 9, Etiwanda 2
Mike Newell went 3-for-4 with three RBI and Mike Abel was 2-for-3 and knocked in three runs for the Braves (15-3, 7-2). Ricky Oropesa had a double for the Eagles.
Rancho Cucamonga 10, Claremont 1
The Page brothers went off in a crucial game for the Cougars (9-12, 4-6), with Josh Page going 3-for-4 with two doubles and an RBI and Matt Page contributing two hits and 3 RBI.
Danny Valenzuela threw a complete game against the Wolfpack (10-10, 4-6), striking out four while giving up a walk and seven hits.
CHRISTIAN LEAGUE
Aquinas 11, Arrowhead Christian 3
Nico Flores had three hits and four RBI for Aquinas (12-8, 7-2). Patricio Martinez (4-2) got the win on the mound for the Falcons, striking out seven and walking one in five innings.
Kyle Ferrao and Michael Kerns had two hits each for ACA (7-12, 2-5).
Western Christian 13, Loma Linda 1
C.J. Beatty went 4-for-5 with three RBI in a Western Christian rout.
Mark Reynoso struck out seven and allowed one run in six innings in addition to going 2-for-4 with three RBI for the Lancers (11-9, 6-3).
Loma Linda (5-13, 0-7) tied the game with a run in the third but allowed 10 runs in the sixth inning.
Pomona Catholic 7, Aquinas 3
Breanna Flores went 3-for-3 and Kayla Silva 3-for-4 for Pomona Cathloic (12-11, 5-0), which now has a two-game lead on Aquinas (15-5 3-2) with five to play.
Pomona Catholic pitcher Tori Sadlak, who allowed seven hits and struck out four in a complete game, also had a three-run double in a five-run fifth that broke a 2-2 tie.
MIRAMONTE LEAGUE
Diamond Ranch 12, Wilson 0
Mike Vinnitsky went 3-for-4 with three runs scored and two RBI for Diamond Ranch (9-10, 5-4), which led 7-0 after four innings.
Panthers pitchers Nick Greene and R.J. Benjamin combined to shutout Wilson (6-13, 1-6), allowing six hits and striking out six.
MOUNTAIN PASS LEAGUE
Beaumont 11, Banning 8
Nick Caudillo went 3-for-4 with two RBI and two runs scored while Aaron Morris added two hits and two RBI for Beaumont (16-3, 7-0).
SAN ANDREAS LEAGUE
San Gorgonio 20,San Bernardino 0
Aaron Rueda went 5-for-6 with six RBI in his three doubles and pair of triples for the second place Spartans (15-5, 7-3). Rueda also earned the victory on the mound, throwing four strikeouts.
Daniel Lindsey went 3-for-4 with a solo homer and also drove in another run and helped himself to five runs scored for San G.
Cajon 15, Arroyo Valley 1
Cameron McCullough went 3-for-3, scored three runs and had an RBI in a runaway win for Cajon (17-3, 9-1).
Aaron Brooks went 2-for-3 for the Cowboys, who led 8-0 after two innings,
Tanner Clark had a three-run single for Cajon and pitcher Mike Finnigan allowed one run on two hits in six innings. Arroyo Valley dropped to 12-6 overall, 7-3 in league.
VICTORY LEAGUE
Bloomington Christian 13, Desert Chapel 1 (5)
Charles Fortis pitched a complete-game three-hitter and drove in two runs on two doubles to lead Bloomington Christian (11-4, 5-0). Joey Szczepanski went 2-for-4 as well.
Desert Chapel is 6-9, 1-5.
NONLEAGUE
Bonita 21, Walnut 2
Jeff Gelalich and Brett Bennett each had four hits and four RBI to lead the Bearcats (14-5), who had nine runs in the fifth inning alone.
Gelalich had two doubles as well for Bonita.
