REV capitzlizes on Miller's largest error of season.
Redlands East Valley capitzlized on a ninth-inning Miller error to take sole possesion of third place in the Citrus Belt League in 4-3 victory. Amy Nece lead off with a single and scored all the way from first after a throwing error made by Miller on a sacrifice bunt attempt by Megan Silva. Nece scored all four runs for the Wildcats (8-5 league) and Silva drove in a run.
Emily Kakuska hit two-run homer for Miller (7-6 league).
BASELINE LEAGUE
Alta Loma 4, Upland 3
Jessica Gonzalez stroke a two-run walk-off homer for the Braves (15-10, 8-6), clinching a playoff spot in the process. against the Scots (16-7-1, 9-5) She had earlier knocked in two runs with a single in the third.
Upland (16-7-1, 9-5) took a 3-0 lead in the third, with two runs scoring on a double by losing pitcher Whitney Jones.
Etiwanda 17, Claremont 2
Eleven Eagles combined for 22 hits, including nine extra-base hits, in a runaway win. Etiwanda (21-3, 13-1) will play Upland Friday in its last game of the regular season.
Claremont (4-21, 2-12) trailed 7-0 after two innings.
Rancho Cucamonga 4, Los Osos 3
The Cougars (10-13, 4-10) eliminated the rival Grizzlies (15-10, 6-8) from playoff contention, scoring four runs in the first two innings.
Adrienne Monka had a leadoff homer and an RBI double for the Cougars, while Caitlin King added two doubles. Brittany Brenner went 2-for-2 with a walk for Los Osos.
CITRUS BELT LEAGUE
Redlands 8, Rialto 0
Andrea Torres had up two RBI and went going 2-for-2 from the bench after substituting in for the first-place Terriers (22-4, 12-0), who are currently on top of a C.B.L race.
Jessica Garcia also drove in a pair of runs and scored once for Redlands, which ends the regular season hosting Redlands East Valley Friday at Redlands at 3:15 p.m.
Fontana 4, Carter 1
Kayla Uphold had a no-hitter broken up by a bunt single by Rachel Varela in the seventh but the Steelers (18-9, 9-4) downed the Lions to clinch second place in the league.
Uphold struck out seven and didn't walk a hitter without a walk. She also knocked in a run offensively.
Erin Fernandez and Alyssa Rivera each went 2-for-3 with a run and an RBI.
Yucaipa 12, Eisenhower 2
The Thunderbirds (15-13, 7-6) let the bats loose against the Eagles, as they recorded six doubles, three coming from Katie Olinger. Olinger finished 4-for-4 with four RBI and a run scored.
Megan Allen went 2-for-3 with a homer and tripled in three runs also scored as many times for Yucaipa.
SUNKIST LEAGUE
Kaiser 8, Jurupa Valley 0
Alyssia Palomino scattered three singles and did not allow a runner to second as the Cats (17-8, 12-2) stayed in the hunt for the league title by downing the Jaguars (7-14, 5-9).
Samantha Trujillo and Lizzie Pulido combined for six hits and five RBI for the Cats, while Vanessa Lenart had three hits and scored three times.
Bloomington 13,Summit 0 (5)
Nicloe Peluffo went 2-for-4 with five RBI, including a grand slam in the fourth inning.
Ashley Carter went 3-for-4 with two RBI for the Bruins (19-7, 12-2) and Michelle Carranza 3-for-4 with an RBI. Oliva Fimbrers went 2-for-2 with two doubles for Summit (12-7, 7-7).
