WEBB TOURNAMENT

No Vivian Webb did not easily defeat the American Eagle outfitters girls Basketball team, but the Academy of Axcelsior Excellence in their own host tournament. Christina Duran scored 20 points for the Gauls over the visiting Tigers. Alya Ahmad followed with 17 and four rebounds in the win.

BREA TOURNAMENT
Los Osos 62, Harvard-Westlake 61
In the final nine seconds of the game, the Wolverines missed two shots and allowed the Grizzles (2-1) to escape with in a win in the fifth-place semifinals.
Cierra Warren paced Los Osos with 39 points and 15 rebounds.

 

 

WEBB TOURNAMENT

Kennyanna Jefferson scored 20 points and had 10 assists for the Eagles (1-0) in their season-opening win over the Cougars (1-2). Upland Christian’s Bianca Esparza scored 17 points while Destiny Duncan added 14 in the easy win.

Way to go EAGLES, showing why YOU are one of the top SB County Christian schools around.

 

HESPERIA CHRSTIAN TOURNAMENT

La Verne Lutheran 64, Hesperia Christian 62

Junior Jordan Gellatly scored the game-winning layup with one second left for his only basket of the game for the Trojans (2-0). Hesperia Chr. (1-1).

Keith Shamburger scored 18 points, 13 assists and three steals while Carl Cooper led the team with 25 points, including five three-pointers for La Verne.

Hesperia Christian was led by Jordan Vargas' game-high 27 points, including going 17-18 at the free-throw line and Tyler O'Brien added 16.

La Verne faces San Diego Tri-City Christian in the semifinals today at 10:30 a.m..   

SERRANO TOURNAMENT
Redlands East Valley 77, Alta Loma 66
Jamell Simmons scored a career-high33 points and nine rebounds for the Terriers (3-0) as they advance to the championship with a win over the Braves (2-1).
Redlands’ Brook Kirk scored nine points and grabbed 12 rebounds while Robert Ellis added 22 points and had eight assists.
J.J. O’Brien scored 27 points and Kyle Crooms added 18 points for Alta Loma.
Redlands plays at 7:30 p.m. today at Serrano High School while Alta Loma will play in the third-place game at 6 p.m.

JURUPA VALLEY TOURNAMENT

Chaffey 60, Jurupa Valley 49
Jordan Daniels scored 4 points with eiht assist in the win for the Tigers (4-0) over the Jaguars in the championship bracket. Mauricio Aldana grabbed 19 rebounds along with his 16 points in his team’s winning effort.

JURUPA VALLEY TOURNAMENT
Rialto 70, Summit 61
Three players scored in double figures for the Knights (1-3) who earned their first victory over the Skyhawks (1-3) in pool play.
Jameur Carter scored 18 points, while Kenton Dyce and Xavier Reid followed with 17 points. Carter added seven assists for Rialto.
Kenny Morgan scored 16 points for Summit.
CLOVIS WEST TOURNAMENT
Ayala 68, Santa Rosa Windsor 47
A.J. Baylon scored 25 points including six three-pointers for the Bulldgos (2-1) over Windsor of Santa Rosa.
Danny Boyd recorded a double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds for the Bulldgos.
BIG DADDY TOURNAMENT
Loma Linda Academy 53, Colton 39
The Roadrunners (2-2) claimed 13th-place in the tourney at Perris Citrus Hill as Michael Giang and Thad Lowe each registered a double-double against the Yellowjackets (1-3).
Guiang had 14 points and 10 steals while Lowe had 10 points and an equal number of rebounds. Andre Warren and Juan Ortiz had 11 and 10, respectively, for Colton.

BEAUMONT WINTER CLASSIC

Rim of the World 62, Desert Hot Springs 43
Thomas Caprpruscio scored 20 points and grabbed 16 boards with six steals as Rim of the World (1-2) defeated Desert Hot Springs (0-3) in the consolation bracket at 10:30 a.m. today at Beaumont.

BEAUMONT WINTER CLASSIC

Rubidoux Patriot 69, San Bernardino 58
Tim Harris scored 17 points in a loss for the Cardinals (1-3) over Riverside Patriot.
Faron Green and Nyle Busick-Stubbs each had 10 for SBHS in their loss which awaits their opponet today to be played at 1:30 p.m. at Beaumont high school.

BEAUMONT WINTER CLASSIC

Big Bear 85, Hemet 81
Kevin McCutcheon hit a free throw with nine seconds to ice the verdict and send the Bears (2-1), with five players int double figures, into today’s consolation finals at 4 p.m.
Kris Proctor scored 20 points, 14 in the final quarter, to lead the winners while Vince Bauer added 16 points and eight rebounds. McCutcheon scored 13 and Kyle Ampurgey and Owen David each contributed 11.

 

 

NONLEAGUE

The Wolfpack opened the season with a 20-4 run in the first quarter against the host Chargers of Charter Oak and Brandi Brown along with Amber Williams combined to score 43 points.
Brown scored 27 points and had 20 rebounds and four steals while Williams added 16 points , eight rebounds and two block shots.
Claremont will host its own tournament beginning Tuesday and I am sure Brandi Brown will light it up once more.

HESPERIA TOURNAMENT

 

Jasmine Ray made both game winning free-throws with three seconds in the game to lift the Cardinals (1-0) over the Panthers.
Ray finished with 36 points and had 10 steals in the game in the winning effort.

Coach Staricka, who also is the head coach for baseball said it was one of the best high school prep basketball games he has ever seen.

HESPERIA TOURNAMENT

In Friday's most lopsidded score of the evenning the Cowboys of CHINO (1-1) were simply too much for the Firebox, who were held scoreless until Sakyra Smith hit the first of her 3-point goals in the fourth quarter.
Kourtney Gilbert led Chino with 21 while Kellie Moore added 17, Anrea Yanez 11 and Lauren Ackerson 10. Chino held a 60-0 lead at halftime.
On Thursday night, in the season-opener, Chino dropped a 50-43 decision to Granite Hills. Robin Fernandes led the Cowboys with 12 and Moore added 11.

BEAUMONT WINTER CLASSIC
Redlands 71, Paloma Valley 40
The undefeated Terriers (3-0) advanced to tonight’s finals, at 7 p.m., by playing tough defense, limiting the Wildcats to a mere 14 points in the last half.
Josh Green led the winners with 23 points, including four 3-point goals while Tristan Kirk added 14 points, eight rebounds and four assists.
The Terriers were down 14-9 after the first quarter, but went on a 25-12 run in the second to take the game over.
Dionte Goodlitt paced the Menefee school with 13 while Zach Hubert and Adam Alfaro added 12 apiece.

 

 

HESPERIA TOURNAMENT

The Hawks of AV (1-1) won the their pool to advance to the semifinals. Nicole Cooper scored 25 points, 16 rebounds and five steals to pace Arroyo Valley after coming off of a 22 point effort in last nights game.
Ronni Reynolds had twelve points and six steals and Astra Felder added seven points for the Hawks.
Barstow had four players with six points.
Arroyo Valley plays at 1 p.m Saturday Dec. 1st at Hesperia High School while Barstow plays at 11 a.m.

COLONY TOURNAMENT

Jasmine White scored 17 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead the Titans (3-0) to their first championship appearance in their own tournament with a win over the Diamond Ranch Panthers (2-1).
Hailey White had 16 points, including four three-pointers, and nine assists while Amani Butler added 14.
Genna Hamilton scored 20 points for Diamond Ranch, who will face Cajon in the third-place game at 3 p.m. at Colony High School.
Colony will face Ayala in the championship today at 5 p.m.

INTERNATIONAL LEAGUE

Nikole Logue scored 14 points, picked off 14 rebounds and had seven steals in leading the Cougars (1-1) to in the league-opener.
Lauren McDaniel added eight rebounds against the Norwalk New Harvest Warriors (0-2, 0-1), who were shutout in the third quarter and trailing 35-10.

 

 

 

 

BIG DADDY TOURNAMENT

Colette Johns scored 20 points and grabbed eight rebounds for the Eagles (2-1) in their win over cross-town rival Roadrunners in the semifinals of the Big Daddy Tournament. Two other girls scored in double figures for ACA including: Lillie Daniels scored 15 points and Missy Spoelstra with 13 points. Daniels added seven assits and four steals in the winning effort.

Arrowhead Christian plays Saturday December 1st at 2:30 p.m. at Notre Dame High School in Riverside versus the Coahella Valley/Woodcrest Christian winner.

 

Garey 49, Pomona 47
Trailing by one point, Andre Charles made a basket, was fouled and made the ensuing free throw with 15 seconds left to lift the Vikings (1-1) past city rival Pomona (1-2) on Thursday night. Charles led Garey with 12 points, while Charlie Lem added 10. Jose Castillejos scored 15 points to lead host Pomona.
Mace Adame blocked Pomona’s final shot attempt in the winding  seconds.

 

WEBB TOURNAMENT

Ribet Academy 58, Ontario Christian 46
Bret Rogers scored 24 points and five rebounds to lead the Knights (1-1) but they fell short to the Fighting Frogs (2-0) in the championship semifinals.
Bobby Nigg scored 10 points for Upland Christian, who plays in the consolation championship at Webb High School at 5 p.m. today.
