COWGIRLS HOLD NOTHING BACK IN WIN

Breja'e Washington went 4-for-5 with a school-record seven RBI to lead the Cowgirls (17-6, 11-1) to a 24-1 victory over the Cardinals. YES! 24-1 for your eyes and viewing pleasure. Well not pleasurable if you are a Cardinal fan. Washington had two doubles and a triple en route to her big day, the biggest day of any Cowgirl that has ever touch the field.
Cajon had eight doubles against the Cardinals (2-16, 1-11) and scored 11 runs in the third inning.

 

ARROWHEAD LEAGUE
Upland Christian 14, La Sierra Academy 6
Kylie Edgemon had four hits and three RBI and Jackie Gavin had three hits and one RBI to lead the Eagles (16-7-1, 7-0). Destinee Duncan pitched a two-hitter, struck out seven and walked five for the Eagles. The Eagles play Cal Lu on Friday.

CHRISTIAN LEAGUE
Pomona Catholic 9, Arrowhead Christian 2
Sophomore Alex Alba went 3-for-3 with three RBI in the Pacers' (14-11, 7-0) victory over the Eagles.
Tori Sadlak earned the win in the circle, throwing 11 strikeouts with no earned runs and no walks for Pomona Catholic.

Aquinas 11, Loma Linda Academy 1
Stevie Goldstein went 2-for-3 with a three run homer <NO1>for the<NO>to lead the Falcons (17-6, 5-2) over the Roadrunners. Goldstein also recorded the win in the circle, with nine strikeouts and no earned runs for Aquinas, which held onto second place in the Christian League.

Ontario Christian 5, Western Christian 4
Alyssa Ramos scored on an error by the Western Christian third baseman with one out in the bottom of the seventh inning, lifting the Knights to the road victory.
Western Christian (3-19, 0-7) came close to getting its first league win against Ontario Christian (11-13, 5-2), which kept pace with Aquinas for second place. Stephanie Obi went 3-for-3 with an RBI for the Knights, who visit first-place Pomona Catholic at 3:30 p.m. Thursday.

DE ANZA LEAGUE
Big Bear 8, Desert Mirage 0
Junior Janae LaPierre threw a no-hitter with 18 strikeouts also adding a two run homer to help her cause as the Bears defeated the Rams.
Sydnee Rollins went 2-for-4 with four RBI and a run scored for Big Bear (12-7, 9-0), which clinched at least a share of the De Anza League title.

 

Colton 8, Arroyo Valley 0
April Vasquez hit a three-run home run, her ninth of the season for the Yellowjackets (15-7, 10-2).
Clarissa Molina allowed three hits, striking out six and walking one.
Colton is at Arroyo Valley (3-9 in league) on Thursday at 3:15 p.m.

San Gorgonio 11, Pacific 0
San Gorgonio's Delia Saucedo pitched a no-hitter, her second of the season, striking out 11 and walking one.
Jaclyn Gomez had three hits and one RBI, Carissa Figueroa had two hits and three RBI and Melissa Thomas had two hits and one RBI for the Spartans (11-10, 7-4), who play at Pacific on Thursday.

STEELERS SPLIT WITH TIGERS

Fontana 11-6, Chaffey 1-9
Kim Endean went 3-for-4 with a homer and two RBI on the day for the Steelers in their split with the Tigers. Courtney Dash had three doubles on the day with four runs scored for Fontana, which continues Citrus Belt League play Wednesday at Eisenhower at 3:15 p.m.
Syvannah Kooyman drove in three RBI all in game two in Chaffey’s victory.


CHARTER OAK TOURNAMENT
Ontario Christian 6, Montebello 1
Hannah Harmon drove in a pari of RBI and scored three times for Ontario Christian (10-13) in the sixteen team tournament.

PACERS REMAIN UNDEFEATED

CHRISTIAN LEAGUE
Pomona Catholic 6, Loma Linda Academy 2
Shelby Reis went 2-for-2 with two RBI for the Lancers, who led 5-0 after three innings to remain undefeated in league with a 6-2 victory over Loma Linda Academy 6-2.
Starting pitcher Tori Sadlak went 2-for-2 for Pomona Cathloic (13-11, 6-0), allowed one earned run and struck out five with no walks.
Loma Linda fell to 10-6, 2-4.

Ontario Christian 7, Arrowhead Christian 6 (8)
Stephanie Obi’s walk-off double scored Kalonie Brooklier in the bottom of the eighth inning, giving the Knights (9-13, 4-2) the victory over the Eagles (8-12-1, 2-4).

Aquinas 9, Western Christian 0
Stevie Goldstein fanned a dozen batters and allowed just one single, never allowing a runner past first, as the Falcons (16-5, 4-2) blanked the Lancers (3-17, 0-6).
Liana Wetzel slammed a bases-loaded triple in the first and Goldstein added a two-run single in the second and a two-run homer in the fourth. Kaitlin Haynes also had two hits for the Falcons.


DE ANZA LEAGUE
Big Bear 23, Desert Hot Springs 0 (5)
The Bears (11-7, 8-0) pounded 16 hits on the road and were led by Kylie Reid and Sydnee Rawlins, who each had two hits and three runs batted in.
Brittany Holden finished the game with four RBI on two hits, including a triple.

SAN ANDREAS LEAGUE

Colton 8, Pacific 0

Eileen Garcia went 2-for-3 with two RBI and struck out 13 in a three-hit shutout to improve her record to 8-3 in the win against the Pirates (3-8 league).
Alicia Miller and Sarah Basquez each went 2-for-3 for the Yellowjackets (14-7, 9-2).

TIGERS GROWL in 10

Monea Ruiz walked with the bases loaded in the eight inning to break a 1-1 tie and push Ontario High School to a 3-1 Mt. Baldy League win over Chaffey, snapping the Tigers’ 10-game softball winning streak.
It was the first league loss for Chaffey (11-4, 9-1).
Kelani Tusha singled to open the rally and moved to third on Genevieve Estrada’s second hit of the day. Two walks forced in a sun and the Jaguars (12-6, 7-3) added an insurance run on an error.
Vivian Young scattered three singles inthe victory, stranding the go-ahead run art third in the bottom of the seventh inning.

CITRUS BELT LEAGUE
Redlands East Valley 8, Yucaipa 5
Raylene Coronado went 2-for-4 with a pair of doubles and two RBI, also earning the victory throwing six strikeouts for the Wildcats (11-8, 6-3).
Amy Nece was 3-for-3 with four runs scored for third-place REV.
Alyssa Haron went 4-for-4 and drove in a run for the Thunderbirds.

Redlands 7, Fontana 1
The Terriers were led by Miriah Graham who was 3-for-3 with 3 RBI and Savannah Garcia who hit a towering homerun in the 3rd to drive in three. The win now gives the Terriers a 3 game lead in first place with five left on the season.
Kim Bruins picked up her 15th win for Redlands (18-2, 9-0) which plays at Eisenhower Friday at 3:15 p.m.

Miller 7, Rialto 5
Samatha Dodd had three hits while winning pitcher Amber Berg and Mistie Jones each batted in a run on two hits as the Rebels (13-8, 5-4) defeated the Knights (8-12, 3-6).
Brianne Evans had three hits for Rilato, as did Rosario Ramirez.

SIERRA LEAGUE
Ayala 7, Chino Hills 1
Jessica Hall drove in four runs and scored once to help her pitching effort, also throwing nine strikeouts for the Bulldogs (16-8-1, 4-1).
Amy Ricciardi went 2-for-3 with a pair of RBI for first-place Ayala.

MOJAVE RIVER LEAGUE
Rim of the World 4, Sultana 0
Erica Prentice (12-0) maintained her perfect record but a two-out single in the seventh inning by Serena Espina cost her a no-hitter as the Scots (14-1, 7-0) defeated the Sultans (5-12, 3-6).
Elizabeth Caporuscio blasted a three-run homer in the second to aid Prentice, who had 12 strikeouts. Jennifer White’s first of two doubled knocked in the other run.

SUNKIST LEAGUE
Kaiser 10, Summit 9
Kaiser pushed across five runs in the third and cruised to a 10-0 win over the SkyHawks in a league game shortened by the mercy rule.
Vanessa Lenart led the Cats (13-8, 8-2), going 2-for-3 with three RBI. Lizzie Pulido and Priscilla Martinez also had two hits each amd Samantha Trujillo clubbed a two-run homer.
Winning pitcher Alyssia Palomino (8-3) struck out seven and gave up just two hits.

BASELINE LEAGUE
Etiwanda 4, Upland 2
Lorae Robinson strked a two-out sinngle in the second inning to break a 1-1 tie and Evangie Galindo added another run-scoring hit as the Eagles (15-3, 8-1) turned back the Scots (15-5, 6-3).
Maggie Karros (14-3) won the duel with Whitney Jonmes, scattering four singles.

Alta Loma 8, Rancho Cucamonga 7 (9)
Olivia Wilcox worked Countery Conrad for a bases-loaded single in the ninth inning as the Braves (13-8, 6-4) defeated the Cougars (10-10, 3-7).
The Braves tied the game on a bases-loaded walk to Dana Drummond in support of Devan Dean (9-6). Melise Brown and Adrianne Beltran had two hits each for the Eagles.
Alexa McPhearson batted in two runs for the Cougars while Adrienne Monka doubled twice and Melissa Gregson had two singles.

GRIZZLIES RUN PAST COUGARS

Los Osos 3, Rancho Cucamonga 2
Katelyn Mann went 2-for-4 with a run scored off her stolen base for the Grizzlies (9-10, 3-6). Cortney Conrad only allowed one walk for Los Osos.

CHRISTIAN LEAGUE
Arrowhead Christian 5, Western Christian 3
Lizzie Daniels pitched a two-hitter in her first league start for the Eagles (2-3 in league). ACA got all five of its runs against the Lancers (0-5) in the fifth, led by a two-run single by Courtney Fick and an RBI double by Sarah Stromwall.

Ontario Christian 11, Loma Linda Academy 0
Alyssa Ramos, Morgan Marcos, Hannah Harmon, Lexi Thomas and Paige Palazollo all had two hits each for the Knights (8-12, 3-2). Thomas earned the pitching victory, allowing five hits against the Roadrunners (2-3 in league).

SAN ANDREAS LEAGUE
Cajon 5, Arroyo Valley 0
Terilyn Baude pitched a one-hitter for the Cowgirls (14-6, 8-1), who took advantage of seven Arroyo Valley errors to get the win.
Colton 14, Pacific 0
Eileen Garcia pitched a one-hitter, struck out 15, walked three and went 2-for-4 with three RBI at the plate for Colton (13-6, 8-1), who will play at Cajon today.
Pacific (5-12, 3-7) plays Colton on Thursday.

San Gorgonio 7, San Bernardino 1
Jasmine Grill allowed just six hits while striking out two and walking nobody to get the win for the Spartans (8-10, 6-10).
Kaylee Wooters and Melissa Thomas both had doubles for the Spartans, while Keke Bluitt had three hits for the Cardinals.

NONLEAGUE
Big Bear 11, Perris Citrus Hill 2
LaPierre went 2-for-3 at the plate and notched the win on the mound for the Bears (10-7), while Kelsey Iasfrate had two hits, including a two-run double.

POWELL POWS IN LATE RUNS FOR COLTON

Samantha Powell’s bases-loaded single with two outs in the top of the seventh inning scored Colton’s first two runs before and eventually the third on a throwing error in a 3-1 win over San Gorgonio on Tuesday.
San Gorgonio (7-9, 5-3) was one out away from a 1-0 win before giving up four singles and a walk to five consecutive Colton (11-6, 6-1) batters.

ARROWHEAD LEAGUE
La Verne Lutheran 13,  La Sierra 8
Sarah Taller went 3-for-4 with two RBI for La Verne Lutheran (5-8, 2-3) and Katie Vickers went 3-for-4 with an RBI  as La Verne Lutheran beats La Sierra 13-8.
Lutheran led 5-1 after the second inning, but La Sierra (2-4 in league) took a 7-5 lead with a five-run fourth only to have the Trojans answer with eight runs in the final three innings.

Upland Christian 10, Sherman Indian 9
Kylie Edgemon went 4-for-4 with four RBI for the Eagles (14-7-1, 5-0), who took sole possesion of first place.
Destinee Duncan drove in two runs for Upland Christian.

CHRISTIAN LEAGUE
Pomona Catholic 5, Ontario Christian 0
Tori Sadlak finished a single short of the cycle and sparkled on the mound, putting Pomona Catholic (8-9, 3-0) into sole possession of first-place.
Sadlak struck out nine Knights (7-9, 2-1) while only giving up a hit and a walk, adding a double, triple and home run at the plate.

loma Linda 3, Western Christian 1
Chelsea Aka pitched a five-hitter for the Roadrunners, improving her record to 11-5. Elizabeth Jones, Erin Long and Brittany Sampson all had doubles for Loma Linda.

DE ANZA LEAGUE
Big Bear 11, Twentynine Palms 0
Janae LaPierre threw a one-hitter with 12 strikeouts in the Bears’ (8-7, 6-0) shutout of Twentyine Palms. LaPierre also drove in three runs and scored twice for Big Bear.
Holly Oberneder went 3-for-3 with three runs in her team’s win.

SAN ANDREAS LEAGUE
Cajon 21, Pacific 0
Lindsey Kent drove in four runs with three doubles for the Cowgirls’ (12-6, 6-1)<NO1> stomping over the Pirates. Sharon Estrada struck out seven in her three innings of relief and hit a two-run homer for Cajon.

Arroyo Valley 12, San Bernardino 4
Chelsea Parker’s first-inning grand slam set the tone for an Arroyo Valley runaway win.
Parker went 4-for-5 with four RBI and two runs scored and Vanessa Zuniga, who scored three runs, was 3-for-5 with a three-run home run in the second inning that gave Arroyo Valley (3-10, 2-7) a 7-0 lead.

BASELINE LEAGUE
Etiwanda 7, Rancho Cucamonga 1
The Eagles (13-3, 5-1) opened with a three-run first inning, keyed by Jessica Garcia’s two-run double, and tamed the Cougars (7-10, 1-5) behind a two-hitter the two-hit pitching of from Maggie Karros (10-3).
Karros, who struck out nine, retired everyone but Melissa Gregson, who doubled and then homered with one out in the seventh. Lorae Robinson homered among her three hits and Liz Santana added three hits with an RBI. Garcia finished the game with two hits.

Alta Loma 4, Los Osos 3
Melise Brown, Marissa Diaz and Jessica Gonzalez had two hits each to lead the visiting Braves (11-7, 4-2) past the Grizzlies (10-5, 4-4).
Tori Hernandez had a double for Los Osos.

SIERRA LEAGUE
Ayala 11, Chino 1
Sophomore Jessica Hall had three hits, five RBI and three runs scored as the Bulldogs (14-7-1, 2-0) cruised past the Cowboys (10-10, 0-2).
Hall hits aided her own cause. She<NO> also excelled in the circle, giving up just five hits and the one run.
Nicole Haley went 3-for-4 with two runs scored.

CITRUS BELT LEAGUE
Fontana 7, Carter 0
Erin Fernandez went 2-for-4 with three RBI as the Steelers (12-4, 5-1) defeated the visiting Lions. Alyssa Rivera went 2-for-3 with an RBI and a run for Fontana.

Redlands 11, Rialto 5
Mariah Graham and Michelle Solomon each hit their first home runs and both went 3-for-3 with a pair of RBI for the first-place Terriers (15-2, 6-0).
Kim Bruins threw nine strikeouts in her 12th victory of the season for Redlands.

Redlands East Valley 5, Miller 2
Jenna Jaquish hit a three-run homer to lift the Wildcats (9-7, 4-2) to victory over the Rebels (10-8, 2-4).
Danielle Torrez went 3-for-3 with a pair of runs scored for REV.
Miller’s Jenna Springer was 2-for-3 at the plate and drove in an RBI.

Yucaipa 3, Eisenhower 0
On a very windy day at Eisenhower, neither team managed an extra-base hit. It was the Thunderbirds (11-7, 3-3) who escaped away with the victory behind the arm of Jessica English, who had eight strikeouts in her shutout.

SUNKIST LEAGUE
Kaiser 10, Norte Vista 1
Vanessa Lenart went 3-for-5 with a double and Lizzie Pulido went 2-for-4 with three RBI and a double to help<NO1>, and<NO> the Cats (10-6, 5-2) cruise to the win on the road.
Kaiser pitcher Alyssia Palomino (5-3) pitched a complete game, striking out seven and allowing two hits by Norte Vista (0-6).

ARROWHEAD LEAGUE
Upland Chr. 18, La Verne Lutheran 6
The Eagles (13-7-1, 4-0) scored 11 runs in the first inning and cruised to an 18-6 win over visiting La Verne Lutheran.
Senior Shannon Thompson went 3-for-4 with six RBI, including a grand slam in the first inning. Winning pitcher Destine Duncan and Bri Remlinger also homered in the first frame.
Tara Abbott went 3-for-3 and Duncan went 2-for-2.
La Verne Lutheran (5-6, 1-3) got a 2-for-3 effort from sophomore Felicia Callas, who had a double and a home run.

CHRISTIAN LEAGUE
Loma Linda 3, Aquinas 2
Brittani Sampson hit the game-winning RBI double in the bottom of the seventh inning for Loma Linda (10-5, 1-1).
Sabrina Cruz, who went 2-for-3, scored the winning run after she singled and stole second.
Loma Linda pitcher Chelsea Aka, who held Aquinas (1-1 in league) to three hits in a complete game, went 2-for-3.

Pomona Catholic 9, Arrowhead Chr. 6
Shelby Reis went 2-for-4 with four RBI including a three-run homer for the Pacers (7-10, 2-0) in their victory against the Eagles.
Lillie Daniels hit a three-run home run for Arrowhead Christian.

Ontario Christian 5, Western Christian 2
Lexie Thomas struck out 10 in a complete-game victory for the Knights (7-8, 2-0). Thomas also went 3-for-4 with a double at the plate against the Lancers (3-14, 0-2).

SAN ANDREAS LEAGUE
Cajon 4, Colton 3
The Cowgirls (11-6, 5-1) created a tie for first with the walk-off win, as Brehanna Rodrigues beat the throw home from first on a Sharon Estrada ground ball in the bottom of the seventh.
Estrada sparkled against the Yellowjackets (10-6, 5-1), striking out seven in the complete-game victory to improve her record to 7-1.

San Gorgonio 2, Arroyo Valley 0
Ally Schmitz went 2-for-3 with both RBI for San Gorgonio (6-8, 4-2).
Delia Saucedo scattered three hits with eight strikeouts and three walks in the complete-game shutout.
The Spartans, who host Arroyo Valley at 10 a.m. on Saturday, scored one in the fourth and one in the sixth.

San Bernardino 6, Pacific 3
Liken Reyes went 3-for-3 with an RBI in helping San Bernardino (2-12, 1-6) to its first league win.
Karyn Chavarria allowed three hits in a complete game and went 2-for-3 for the Cardinals. Kiki Bluitt also went 2-for-3.
Samantha Johnson hit a first-inning, two-run home run for Pacific (5-9, 3-4).

BASELINE LEAGUE
Etiwanda 2, Los Osos 1

Facing a full count with two outs in the seventh inning, Alyssa Calderon hit a two-run home run to lift Etiwanda (13-3, 4-1) over Los Osos (10-4, 3-3).
Etiwanda pitcher Maggie Karros’ only allowance was an unearned run in the second inning on a throwing error following a double for Los Osos’ Brianna Meyer.
Karros (10-3) allowed just two hits in a complete game, as did Los Osos starter Erin Wesley.

Upland 5, Rancho Cucamonga 4
Alexa Andersen went 3-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored for the Highlanders’ (11-3-1, 4-1) victory over the Cougars.
Rancho Cucamonga almost mounted a comeback in the seventh scoring two runs in the top of the inning off a two run homer by  Adrienne Monka.

CITRUS BELT LEAGUE
Redlands 2, Miller 1 (11
)
Jessica Garcia’s one-out squeeze bunt in the bottom of the 11th scored Michelle Sullivan from third to keep the Terriers (14-2, 5-0) undefeated in league play.
Jessica Alvarado made a diving catch in the top of the 11th to save two Miller (9-7, 2-3) runs.

Fontana 3, Yucaipa 0
Kim Endean, Alyssa Rivera, and Courtney Dash all doubled in the top of the eighth inning and all drove in a run for the Steelers (11-4, 4-1) in their league victory.
Kayla Uphold pitched a complete game allowing just two hits with no walks and five strikeouts for Fontana.

Redlands East Valley 5, Carter 3
Reylene Coronado recorded a complete game for the Wildcats (8-7, 3-2), while Kayla Alfaquir and Trenice Veradle homered to lead the Lions (7-9, 1-4).

MT. BALDY LEAGUE
Montclair 5, Ontario 3
Liz Castaneda hit a three-run home run and pitched a complete game for the Cavaliers (6-10, 2-4) as they defeated the host Jaguars.
Vivian Young drove in all of Ontario’s runs with her pair of homers.

SIERRA LEAGUE
Ayala 5, Chino 1
Nani St. Germain provided the key hit of the game, a two-run triple in a four-run third inning Ayala (13-7-1, 1-0) entered with a 1-0 lead.
Ayala’s Mary Massei went 3-for-3 and Jessica Hall, who scattered six hits, walked two and struck out four, singled in St. Germain in the third inning.
Chino (10-9, 0-1) scored its lone run in the seventh.

CITRUS BELT LEAGUE
Rialto 5, Eisenhower 3
The Knights (8-8, 3-2) scored four runs in the fourth to overcome a 2-0 Eisenhower (4-12, 0-5) lead in support of winning pitcher Bryanne Evans, who finished the game with three hits, including a solo homer.
Batterymate Jessica Lemus added three hits for the Knights, who scored the four runs on a passed ball, a walk and a fielder’s choice.

SOFTBALL

MICHELLE CAREW CLASSIC
Lakewood 5, Colton 4
Lakewood broke a 4-4 tie in the bottom of the seventh inning of a consolation bracket game with a leadoff single followed by an RBI double.
April Vasquez went 3-for-4 with two RBI for Colton (8-5, 4-0) and Clarissa Molina went the distance, allowed nine hits and struck out nine.
Colton 8, Murrieta Valley 0
Colton’s April Vasquez went 2-for-3, including a grand slam in the seven-run second inning.The win gave Colton (9-5) sixth place in the tournament.
In a battle for first place in the San Andreas League, the Yellowjackets host Cajon, which is also 4-0 in league, on Tuesday.

NONLEAGUE

Cajon 2-5, Diamond Bar 1-7
The Cowgirls and Brahmas split the doubleheader decision at Diamond Bar. In game one, it was Cajon’s ace pitcher Terilyn Baude who threw a complete seven strikeout performance for Cajon (10-5). She only gave up five hits and just one run to Diamond Bar’s (7-6) Stephany La Rossa solo homer in the sixth. Lindsey Kent and Brehanna Rodriguez each went 5-for-8 on the day driving in two runs a piece.
In game two, Emily Kuper became the hero with a fifth inning grand slam down 5-0 to start a rally eventually giving the Brahmas the win.
Cajon continues San Andreas League play Tuesday at Colton at 3:15 p.m.
