The surprising turnaround of the Charter Oak High School girls basketball team added another chapter on Thursday night.
The Chargers, winners of just two games all of last season, posted a 46-35 win over host El Monte in the first round of the CIF-Southern Section Division 3A playoffs.
“It’s definitely very exciting,” first-year Charter Oak coach Jenny Strycula said. “The girls just work so hard everyday, so it’s great to see that they finally see some reward from it.”
