BASEBALL: MISSION VALLEY LEAGUE – GABRIELINO 3, EL MONTE 0
Gabrielino inched its way closer to the Mission Valley League title as the Eagles shutout the Lions. Vincent Albelo pitched a three-hit gem for Gabrielino while striking out seven.
Johnny Moreno and Romeo Alvarez each colleted two hits for the Eagles. The Eagles can wrap up the MVL title with a win Wednesday at Mountain View.
BOYS TENNIS: PREP LEAGUE – PASADENA POLY 16, FLINTRIDGE PREP 2

SOFTBALL: SIERRA LEAGUE – ST. LUCY’S 7, CLAREMONT 0
The Regents played a balanced game to shutout the Wolfpack. Danielle O’Toole pitched a complete game allowing only one hit and struckout 15 batters in claiming her 14th win of the season. St. Lucy’s had several contributors on offense but Laura Swan helped break the game open in the second inning when she hit a two RBI double. St. Lucy’s climbs to 18-4, 5-1 on the season while Claremont stumbles to 4-14, 0-6.
BASEBALL: SIERRA LEAGUE – SOUTH HILLS 13, AYALA 3
South Hills pounded out 15 hits, which included six doubles and first inning homerun from Tony Muniz as the Huskies cruised to victory. Senior Ty France threw five innings and gave up three hits on two walks while striking out five. South Hills goes to 14-6 overall and 8-3 in league play while Ayala drops to 3-8 in league.
BASEBALL: ALMONT LEAGUE – ALHAMBRA 11, SAN GABRIEL 1 (5 INNINGS)
Alhambra senior Gary Acua pitched a shorten complete-game and in the process picked up his seventh win against one loss on the season. Acua scattered four hits and allowed two walks while striking out nine on one earned run. Junior shortstop Jeremy Duran lead the Moors offensively as he went 2 for 2 with a double, single and scored twice and he also knocked in a run. With the win, Alhambra improves 16-3 overall and 10-1 in league play while San Gabriel drops to 3-15 and 2-9.
BOYS VOLLEYBALL: PREP LEAGUE: PASADENA POLY 3, WEBB 2
The Panthers outlasted the Gauls with scores of 22-25, 25-14, 22-25, 25-10, 15-12.
Pasadena Poly was led in scoring by Michael Saeta with 25 kills and seven aces and Colin Woolway added 18 kills for Pasadena Poly.
Curtis Toyota contributed with 26 assists, Dennis Grover 12 digs and Mark Loyola had five blocks.
With the win, Pasadena Poly improved to 14-4 and 6-1 in league play.
