In the first round of the CIF–SS Division 6 playoffs, Pasadena Poly (17-5 overall)defeated visiting Lone Pine 14-0 behind a season high 17 hits at Babcock Field. Every starter had at least one hit, and the 14 runs tied a season high.
For Poly, ranked 4th in the final CIF–SS Divison 6 poll and number one in MaxPreps’ CIF–SS Div 6 rankings, the win was their 13th in a row and 15th of the last 16. David Orndorff was two for four with three RBIs, including a two run homerun to the center, his third of the season. Jonah Campbell was two for four with two doubles and three RBIs. Luke Asperger was two for four with three RBIs. Davey Fess was four for four including a double. Zack Bern was two for three and Joey Asperger added a two run double. Caleb Lee and Charlie Ramirez also had doubles.
On the mound, Chris Ward threw four scoreless, one hit innings with eight strikeouts to run his record to 10-0, and Orndorff finished the shutout with four strikeouts over three scoreless innings.
