Notre Dame of Sherman Oaks sprinter Sean Jackson has signed a national letter of intent to join the University of Michigan track and field team next season.

Jackson helped the Knights nationally ranked 4x100-meter relay team clinch a state title last season. Jackson is the second leg of this year’s Mission League championship team that is ranked No. 1 heading into Saturday’s Southern Section Div. III prelims at Warren High in Norwalk.

“Sean Jackson will be a great addition to our sprint corp," said Michigan track and field coach Ron Warhurst in a release. “He is versatile in that he can run 100m, 200m, and 400m and has been battle tested in major competitions.”

The Knights have the area’s second best time of 41.90. That’s the No. 5 time in the state behind Rancho Cucamonga, Rio Mesa of Oxnard, Franklyn of Elk Grove and Poly of Long Beach.
