HS FOOT: Saugus 28, Valencia 0 2nd 1:30

| | Comments (0) |

Saugus is taking it to Valencia in a Foothill League game at College of the Canyons. As expected, Ryan Zirbel is dominating with 123 yards in 10 carries with three touchdowns, including a 73-yarder. QB Desi Rodriguez also looks good, rushing for 165 yards on five carries, including a 78-yard TD.

This looks more like a track meet. What has happened to Valencia, for years one of the Southland's strongest programs? After just a 2-8 season last year, it looks like they'll be 4-3, 1-1 after this one -- and in serious danger of missing the playoffs, as only three of the league's six teams qualify.

Meantime, Hart is up 21-3 vs. West Ranch late in the second

quarter, and Canyon has a 42-0 halftime lead over Golden Valley ....
