Boys Basketball: St. Genevieve Coach Fired

Kimo Atkins has been relieved of his duties as boys' basketball head coach at St. Genevieve of Panorama City.

I caught up with athletic director Marlon Archey, who was watching the St. Mary's Academy of Inglewood at Bell-Jeff of Burbank girls' basketball game Thursday night.

When asked what happened Archey said, "I can't talk about it. Call our principal."

Atkins had turned around the program in recent years, leading the Valiants to the finals of the Viewpoint tournament this season.

Archey said the J.V. coach is now coaching varsity for the remainder of the season.
