Dodgers to honor high school coaches

| | Comments (0) |

The Dodgers are hosting a CIF baseball coaches reception Thursday at Dodger Stadium where Tommy Lasorda will present two coaches with the Tommy Lasorda Coaches Award. The winners aren't supposed to be announced until the reception, but I'm told one of the winners is from a valley team.
Also scheduled to be in attendance is former Newbury Park star Andrew Lambo, who was the Dodgers' fourth-round draft pick last spring. He'll be joined by Newbury Park coach Scott Drootin and scout Chuck Crim, being recognized for their part Lambo's development. Lambo has another awards ceremony to attend next week when the Association of Professional Baseball Players of America honors him as their Most Outstanding First-Year Player.
