HS HOOPS: Campbell Hall's Johnson not expected to play tonight

| | Comments (0) |

sicksmileyface2.gifUnless he makes a miraculous recovery from a nasty case of Strep throat, standout James Johnson isn’t expected to play tonight for Campbell Hall against La Canada in a Southern Section Div. III-AA semifinal at Harvard-Westlake High.

The team is in the midst of a shoot-around, so I’ll try to provide an update soon. I’ll also be covering the game tonight – a rematch of last year’s section final won by eventual CIF State champion Campbell Hall.

Johnson, a 6-6 sophomore, is averaging 15.3 points, 10.1 rebounds and 2.5 blocks.

His expected absence could open the door for a huge night for Jrue Holiday, the Valley-area’s third all-time leading scorer. This season, Holiday is averaging 25.9 points.
