HS HOOPS: Renaissance Academy clamps down

clamp.jpgNo team has been able to clamp down defensively like Div. III-A top seed Renaissance Academy of La Canada, coming off a 77-19 victory over Estancia of Costa Mesa that lowered the Wildcats' points-allowed average to 44.2 per game.

Just one of Renaissance Academy's past eight opponents has scored more than 50 points.The Wildcats, who have lost in the section finals three years in a row, play tonight at Notre Dame of Riverside in the quarterfinals. Justin Cook leads Renaissance Academy with an average of 18.7 points.Renaissance Academy is 74-11 over the past three seasons.
