HS HOOPS: Campbell Hall looking strong in first half

crwod.jpgAs expected, Campbell Hall raced out of the gate with a quick 11-2 lead, and so far the Vikings have not looked back. They lead 41-25 over La Canada at the half in the Div. 3-AA semifinals before a packed, overflow crowd at Harvard Westlake High in Studio City.

Jrue Holiday has scored 12 points, starting with a 3-pointer from the right corner on Campbell Hall's first possession, and thrilling the crowd with a monster dunk to make it a 20-point lead in the second quarter. Teammate Dallas Rutherford has 14 points, as the Vikings are playing without standout post player James Johnson, who has Strep throat.

Unless La Canada shocks the world over the next 16 minutes, Campbell Hall can stamp its ticket to the section final Saturday at Honda Center.
