HS HOOPS: Countdown to D5 championship here in Sacramento

SACRAMENTO -- Just outside of an hour b efore Renaissance Academy takes the floor for today's CIF State Div. V championship against Branson at Arco Arena in Sacramento.

This place should be rocking -- for Branson. There already are a lot of people here, as Branson's girls are playing for the DV 5 title against Mission Prep right now, with Branson up by seven at the half.

Renaissance Academy has never won a state title -- only three area programs have done so (Campbell Hall, Harvard Westlake and Montclair Prep), so a victory would be an historical accomplishment, especially for a program that's been around only eight years and has 65 total students on campus.
