HS HOOPS: Uproar over firing of Calabasas coach Neilsen
Jim Neilsen, who played at Washington State, has been fired as coach of Calabasas in the wake of an alleged complaint by a parent, though athletic director Larry Edwards is among a group who support Neilsen.
Neilsen, who remains a teacher at the school, has yet to return a message seeking comment. A school official said he could not comment because it's a personnel matter.
At 2:30 p.m. today, the Calabasas basketball players on all levels are planning to conduct their own practice at the Las Virgenes School District office in a show of support for Neilsen, said two team parents.
