HS BASE: A Ruthian performance for Quartz Hill's Roe

11 babe ruth.jpgWhat a Babe Ruth-style performance Friday from LMU-bound Shon Roe, who went 5 for 5 with four home runs, a triple and 12 RBIs for Quartz Hill in a 25-0 victory over visiting Littlerock.

Roe's four home runs tied a Southern Section record co-held by 10 others, the last in 2000. The only area large-school player ever to hit four in one game was Westlake's Mike Lieberthal, who hit four against Simi Valley in 1990 in a 15-5 victory.

The 13 RBIs fell one short of the Southern Section/CIF State record of 14.
