Boys Basketball: Van Nuys Losing Its Two Best Players

| | Comments (0) |

Victor Rudd and Willie Hankins are on the move again.

After transferring from Sylmar to Van Nuys amid much controversy last summer, Rudd and Hankins are reportedly headed to Findlay Prep in Las Vegas.

"It is very upsetting to lose two good players," Van Nuys coach Charles White said. "We will just move on. I think they are leaving because they think they will be better prepared to play college ball by playing against better competition day in and day out."

Losing Rudd and Hankins will surely hurt the Wolves' chances of contending with Taft of Woodland Hills, Fairfax of Los Angeles and Westchester of Los Angeles.

Rudd will be attending his fourth school in the last four years and Hankins, who will be a junior, will be at his third school.

Rudd would have been one of the region's best players with Renaissance Academy of La Canada's Anthony Stover and Sylmar's Tyler Honeycutt.
