For the second time in as many meets, the Saugus girls' "B" team turned in a stellar performance Saturday night at the 28th annual Woodbridge Cross Country Classic in Irvine.

Led by Danielle Hernando's eighth-place finish in 17 minutes, 56 seconds, the Centurions won the rated race with 94 points, well ahead of El Toro of Lake Forest (146).

Saugus' winning team time was 91:23, which would've placed the Centurions fifth in the sweepstakes race. If Keri Molt and Courtney Wilson -- sixth and seventh for Saugus in the sweepstakes race -- were added to the marks posted by Hernando, Nicole Penick and Alex Hampton, the Centurions' 6th through 10th runners would've taken fourth in the sweepstakes race in 90:23.

Penick and Hampton both clocked 18:17 to finish 18th and 19th in the rated race, with Anne Randall (18:22) taking 22nd and Merissa Kado (18:31) placing 35th.
